MDA Primetime Telethon Achieves $61.5 Million

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The new era of primetime Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethons has started. In six primetime hours last night, the organization leading the fight against progressive muscle diseases delivered on its promise of an outstanding 46th annual MDA Labor Day Telethon. MDA today announced that its 2011 Telethon raised $61, 491, 393 — up from the $58, 919, 838 achieved during the prior year’s 21.5-hour Telethon. Chaz Bono to “Dancing” Staff Cut the Crap!

Chaz Bono has already lost 5 pounds rehearsing for “Dancing with the Stars, ” but he’s upset because he feels all the crappy junk food — courtesy of producers — is thwarting his diet.

As for the food that’s pissing off the freshly-minted man … chips, candy, granola and protein bars.

We’re told Chaz has already made very specific food demands to producers.

Seven stars back in X Factor finals

WANNABES will have to share the limelight with no fewer than SEVEN former X Factor stars in this year’s live finals, TV Biz can reveal.

Last year’s winner Matt Cardle and fellow star Rebecca Ferguson have been invited back as guests on the show.

Cher Lloyd and One Direction from 2010 are also being lined up.

Former winner Joe McElderry will be back singing a track from his new album, while runner-up Olly Murs, now an Xtra Factor host, will also perform. Series three winner Leona Lewis gets a slot too.

Simon Cowell’s Red or Black? loses more than a million viewers

Simon Cowell’s new gameshow Red or Black? lost more than a million viewers on its second night.

The big-budget show attracted an average of 4.7 million viewers and a 22.4% share of the audience between 6.45pm and 8pm on Sunday night, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Half an hour later at 8.30pm, the 30-minute results show pulled in 5.4 million and 20.9%.
