As she sat down for an interview hours before performing live in her home city, Crystal Bowersox grinned and slammed something down on the table.

A baby bottle.

Curiocity: Q & A With Top 10 ‘American Idols’

Before this year’s Top 10 “American Idols” took the stage to throngs of screaming fans — at the Target Center Friday night — they took a moment to talk about life on the road and what’s next with just five shows left to go.

It was a routine they’ve no doubt come accustomed to, as “press hour” has been built in to their daily schedule of bus trips and sound checks. Still, the foursome of “Idol” stars — runner-up Crystal Bowersox, Aaron Kelly, Tim Urban and Didi Benami — faced another round of media questioning in stride (even if it interrupted Miss Bowersox’s, no doubt, needed napping.)

So without further ado, see what the Season 9 finalists had to say during their brief stop in Minneapolis.

Freddie Mercury: Rock ‘N’ Roll’s Humble Showman

Mercury’s voice was untrained and unpredictable, sometimes soaring from an earthy baritone to a wild but heavenly tenor.

“It’s supersexy, ” says American Idol star Adam Lambert. He spent hours upon hours listening to Queen, trying to figure out how Mercury did it. And when he auditioned for Idol, he sang Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.”

“Freddie’s voice has so much texture to it, ” Lambert says. “He kind of grabs at everything, he squeezes it.”

‘Glee’ Scoop: Jayma Mays, Mike O’Malley talk ‘Wemma, ‘ Kurt/Finn, and The Boss

Just how crazy did things get when I caught up with Glee’s Jayma Mays and Mike “Kurt’s Dad” O’Malley at the 2010 Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film pre-Emmy bash? Let me put it to you this way. Before we were done, she got a little too close to my, ahem, microphone while discussing her upcoming on-screen affair with John Stamos, and he persuaded me to use a Springsteen classic to make my world premiere as a singer right here on Ausiello TV. Or did he? Press play to find out!

No ‘Glee’ over no royalties

Some cast members of Fox hit “Glee” claim they’ve been stiffed out of profits from the show’s big-selling soundtrack.

After their latest record, “Glee: The Music — Journey to Regionals” landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in June, star Mark Salling said he’d seen “not a dime” of royalty payments from label Sony Music.

Co-star Corey Montieth told Toby Knapp’s DC 99.5 radio show: “I got 400 bucks from it going No. 1. But you know what, that’s OK, because if I’m patient, and if this thing does really well, maybe I’ll see another 400 bucks.”

‘Mad Men, ‘ ‘Modern Family’ win top Emmys

The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards began with a song and dance number with host Jimmy Fallon and surprise guests, including Tina Fey, “Glee” cast members, Jon Hamm and Betty White, but the night spotlighted many first-time winners and featured some upsets.

AMC’s “Mad Men” took home its third straight award for top drama, while newcomer and critical favorite “Modern Family” grabbed its first win for comedy series.

When “Family” co-creator Steve Levitan referred to the lack of recognition for writers as he accepted on behalf of the cast and crew, he joked, “That’s Hollywood!”

New David Blog – 8/30/10

Helloo to everyone from Nashville. It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog, so I thought it’d be a good week to write one.

I’ve had a really great past couple of weeks! I’ve been on the first leg of a radio promo tour, and it’s been great visiting all the different radio stations and getting to perform again! I started in Greenville, South Carolina for B93.7’s Zoo-A-Palooza to help raise money for the local Greenville Zoo there. I then went to Louisville, Kentucky where I got to do a show for WDJX with other performers like We The Kings, Hot Chelle Rae, Iyaz, and Kris Allen as the host. It was really fun hanging with everyone there. We then made stops at 106.3 in Lexington, Q102 in Cincinnati, WNCI in Columbus, and Q102 in Philly. It’s fun getting to go to all of the different radio stations! We also went to PRO FM in Rhode Island, which is always great going over to see them! After that we went to Sixflags New England for a show with KC 101 where Auburn, Boys Like Girls, Flo Rida, and Bruno Mars performed at too. I must admit that I’m a pretty big fan of Bruno Mars’s stuff. He has an awesome voice. I’m sure you guys know his new song Just the Way You Are, but if you haven’t then you should really check it out.
