Nearly two years after Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew were brutally murdered; the family is trying to move on but still doesn’t have any closure.

Prime suspect William Balfour was charged in the triple homicide in late 2008 and RadarOnline.com has learned that the much anticipated case has been granted yet another continuance today.

During the first year of “American Idol, ” contestants were so loosely handled that they could be collared and even interviewed during cigarette or water breaks before and after tapings; the kids milled and mingled out in the parking lots with everyone else. That all changed within a year; now access to contestants is arranged far in advance through publicists. Even contestants’ families are generally muzzled by publicists on shows like this.

Given all that careful micromanagement, is it really surprising that the voices on a show like “X Factor” aren’t exactly real?

What happens when reality TV starts getting real

(CNN) — Fans of Fantasia Barrino’s reality show “Fantasia For Real” won’t have long before they learn if the series will live up to its name.

The second season of the VH1 show premieres September 19, after the singer’s overdose following allegations about her relationship with a married man.

The incident raises the issue of how reality shows handle the troubles and tragedies of their stars before an audience expecting an insider’s view of the subjects’ lives.

“They’ve cast him already, ” Jane Lynch told us last night at the Audi and Chopard Emmy party when we asked about Kurt’s much-anticpiated love interest. “He becomes the new star quarterback and he’s going to be Kurt’s boyfriend.”

Sources confirm to Zap2it that “The Hills'” Audrina Patridge has signed on for the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

This marks the first post-“Hills” addition to the MTV star’s dance card, which has been relatively empty since the series ended its six-season run in July.
