Jessica Sanchez in 5-city Philippine tour in October – Jessica Sanchez to embark on a solo tour of the Philippines: A source on Tuesday told the Inquirer that new FM station Radio High 105.9 will bring in the petite 16-year-old Filipino-American singing sensation for a solo concert tour in October in Manila, Bataan (her mother’s hometown), Baguio, Cebu and Davao. Clay Aiken Gets a Haircut – SMITHFIELD – Last Wednesday afternoon, nearly all of the chairs were filled at Salon 29:11, but stylist Jamie O’Branovich was saving a slot for a customer coming from out of town – singer Clay Aiken. A small salon on Venture Drive might seem an odd choice for the former “American Idol” star, who’s known for frequently changing his hairstyle. But O’Branovich – who opened the salon in February – is Aiken’s cousin, and she’s looked after his hair for years.“I think I change my hair more than any guy I know,” Aiken said as O’Branovich shampooed his head. “She’s put up with it.” – Read more at Smithfield Herald
‘American Idol’ comes to town: Newark hosts auditions this week – Starting early Thursday morning, it’s likely at least 20,000 more will get in line for “Idol” wristbands, in order to secure a place in Saturday auditions for the 12th season of the show, says Robert Sommer, Prudential Center spokesman. Native New Jersey girl, Elise Testone has advice: “Own the song,” Testone says. “Don’t be scared.” And remember: You may only have a grand total of 40 seconds to make an impression, so don’t waste time, says Testone, now in the middle of rehearsals in Los Angeles for an “American Idols Live” tour that will visit the Prudential Center on Aug. 28. “There’s just so many people and it moves quickly,” she says of auditions. – Read more at NJ.com
