Are you still finishing your degree?
I actually just finished two days ago, so I’m done with school, and I’m going to be getting my diploma.
You were eliminated before country week, which was a genre that Simon incessantly wanted you to pursue. Had you survived, which Shania Twain song would you have performed?
I probably would have sung ‘From This Moment On, ‘ because it actually showed a clip of when I was little. I sang that for my uncle’s wedding, and it’s a song that I’ve loved for a really long time, so definitely, I probably would have sang that.
Is there one ‘Idol’ that you’d like to collaborate with?
It would be cool to collaborate with Jordin, I think.

American Idol’s Career Secret
Guess what, America? DeWyze had another job–in finance. Why didn’t this little wrinkle to his narrative pop up on American Idol?
“I didn’t mention it on the show because it’s not what I was doing at the time I auditioned, ” says DeWyze in an e-mail sent via a personal representative. “My experience [as a trading floor clerk] was one I learned a lot from, and I think that I’ll use many things from that job in my everyday life.”
What’s not mentioned is that DeWyze also worked as a clerk on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange ( CME – news – people ), part of CME Group, in 2007 and 2008.
Kris Allen Charts at #1 Again
Season 8’s American Idol, Kris Allen, charted at #1 for the third time. His debut single, “Live Like We’re Dying, ” landed at #1 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 Recurrents chart. In April, Kris Allen made his debut at #1 on the Billboard charts when “Live Like We’re Dying” topped the Christian Digital Songs and Christian/Gospel Digital Songs charts.
With Kris’ addition to the charts, the American Idol contestants have now accumulated 273 #1s to date.
