Album sales don’t bear out ‘Idol’ superstar promise
When American Idol launched in 2002, it promised to create instant superstars. Based on recent music sales, the show might currently be better titled American Opening Act.
Albums from last season’s top two finishers, Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox, have each sold about 100, 000 copies since their respective November and December releases, according to Nielsen SoundScan. During the show’s first seven years, that figure would have made for a bad first week.

‘Glee’s’ Lea Michele wants you to ride a cab, not a horse
“Glee” star Lea Michele may not have time to drop a solo album right now, but the New Yorker did take some time out of Rachel Berry’s busy schedule to join PETA stand up for some NYC horses who can’t speak for themselves.
You know those romantic carriage rides through the city streets that seem to be so popular when all the holiday lights are out? Michele, posing next to a horse that’s so pretty we’re not entirely sure it didn’t come out of a My Little Pony box, wants to make sure you know that the romance isn’t worth the trauma it may cause to the animals.

‘Glee’-inspired
Gwyneth Paltrow is in a New York studio doing a remix with Cee Lo Green of “Forget You, ” his song that she performed on “Glee.” Sources said the pair are working with Bruno Mars’ producer, Ari Levine. We’re told they went back to work on the track “since everybody thought she rocked it on ‘Glee.’ ”
