Carrie Underwood had a vision for ‘Something in the Water’ – There was something in the air when “Something in the Water” was written. Songwriter Chris DeStefano remembers the country tune coming together quickly when he met Carrie Underwood and Brett James at Underwood’s Tennessee cabin to write songs. The song was a huge hit, and DeStefano gives a ton of credit to Underwood — not just for being a powerhouse vocalist, but for being a songwriter who knows what she wants to say. In “Water’s” case, she wanted to tell the story of someone who found redemption through faith.
