‘Rabid’ Fans Of Carrie Underwood, Other Country Stars Keep Radio On Tight Leash – After news broke in March of Carrie Underwood’s move from longtime label home Arista Nashville to Capitol, her passionate fan base took to social media to renew their frequent — and, most industry insiders would say, completely unfounded — complaints about Arista parent Sony Music. Others seemed to believe newcomer Maren Morris siphoned Sony’s attention from Underwood. WUBE/WYGY Cincinnati PD Grover Collins says that through the years, his stations have “gotten beaten up through Twitter, Facebook and request lines with any American Idol singer worked to country, to the point where I’ve told the record companies that [such fans are] doing more bad than good with their persistence.” That includes followers of Scotty McCreery, according to KRTY San Jose, Calif., PD Julie Stevens, who says they “took that stuff to a whole new level: calls, tweets, texts, and it was never-ending.” – Read more at Billboard.com

Concert Preview: Lee DeWyze – Lee DeWyze’s latest single, “Weight,” aptly describes its atmosphere – a hushed, melancholic lead vocal suspended in a dense fog of persistent keys and percussive thunderclaps. It’s just under two-and-a-half minutes long, but its short duration is a beautiful ride. The fact that it has a pronounced cinematic quality isn’t just coincidence. “[It] really was a song when I wrote it…it kind of started as one of these things where there was, to be honest, a film that was looking for a song,” DeWyze revealed during a recent phone conversation. – Read more at Columbus Underground.com
Adore Delano Sues Management For Millions – Danny Noriega, Delano’s out-of-drag name, has claimed in the lawsuit that he earned upwards of $2.5 million throughout the past 3 years from the release of two studio albums and hundreds of concerts. Yet, he has only walked away with $300 thousand. Delano believes that PEG management conspired with their record label to “nickel-and-dime” the singer as much as possible, at times taking as much as 70% of his appearance fees, according to documents obtained by TMZ—their report also alleges that PEG management threatened to “destroy his career” if Delano continued questioning his finances. – Read more at Out.com
