The Grammys should increase sales next week, but who is getting some traction on the pre-Grammy chart? Various artists. The ever popular Now series leads this week’s chart with 54.98% of the market reporting. I must say that it is nice to see an album selling over 100K and we aren’t even at the final chart. NOW is now up to 37, but unlike many releases of NOW, there are no Idol artists on the album. This time it is Capitel/EMI’s turn to release the NOW album.
Next up is the Bieb who is having a great week. He has been everywhere lately. A Superbowl ad. SNL. Every talk show imaginable. The number two movie of the weekend (by just a mere whisker, $30, 514, 732 compared to $30, 256, 601…it even got a fresh rating from RottenTomatoes) and of course, his big ninja-infused performance on the Grammys. And now, he is holding down not one, but two spots in the top 5 of the HDD chart. His “Acoustic” album is number 2 while his “My World 2.0” is number 4.
Mumford & Sons are holding down the number 3 spot and Jason Aldean continues to sell well at number 5. As I may have mentioned before, this album features a duet with Kelly Clarkson that is currently tearing up the country charts. Go Kelly.
The only other Idols on the list are Adam Lambert on the Grammy CD (7) and Daughtry and Adam on Now 36 (now at 24).
Daily numbers’ thread. Post NOW 37!
