I just want make sure y’all know about the cool new Grammy Submissions thread Kirsten just started. The Grammy submission lists are leaking slowly, and many Idols have been submitted for consideration for Grammy nominations.
The list of Idol submissions is long: Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul, Carrie Underwood, Ace Young, Bucky Covington, Kellie Pickler, Josh Gracin — just about every Idol who released music this past year.
David Archuleta’s “Crush” was submitted in 3 categories: Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year (songwriters award) and Record of the Year. Neither David Cook’s “Time of My Life” or “Light On” (released just in time to make the 9/30 submission deadline) were submitted for consideration.
There’s much to discuss, so check it out.
The Grammy nominations will be announced December 3 in a first-ever prime time special. The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live ‘ Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night will announce nominations in at least six categories and feature performances by past Grammy winners. The 51st Annual Grammy Awards will take place on Feb. 8, 2009.
