Glee returns to FOX on Thursday April 11th with an episode titled “Shooting Star” that Ryan Murphy calls “The most powerful, emotional Glee ever.”

Well, we’ve heard that before, but suffice it to say, we are in for another Very Special Edition of Glee.  By the way, FOX has scheduled a conference call with Ryan Murphy for Tuesday, so there may be more spoilers. Maybe the network will announce Glee’s renewal for Season 5…

But I digress. In this episode, as New Directions prepares for Regionals, Brittany–Astronomy Club president–predicts an asteroid is heading to earth and will destroy it. In order to ease the kids’ minds, and to get them thinking about what they would do if they really were living their last days on earth, Will assigns a “Last Chance” theme to the Glee club.  But then, the assignment takes on a new meaning, when a terrifying and all-to-real event grips the school.

The episode is TOO SCARY to even contemplate much singing, as there  are only THREE performances featured this week.  And there are NO NEW YORK CITY SCENES.   No Kurt. No Rachel. No Happy. BOO.

A lighthearted performance of “More than Words”  by Sam, Brittany and New Directions (Check out the sneak peak at the bottom of the page) is dedicated to…Brit’s cat LORD TUBBINGTON. For reals.

Ryder dedicates “Your Song” to his online girlfriend…whom he’s never met.  Ryan Murphy confirmed during a recent twitter Q&A that the storyline is about a Catfish. Now the only question is which McKinley High student is trolling Ryder? But we don’t find out in this episode, so we’ll move on.  The arrangement is practically a note by note copy of the Elton John original, which I have mixed feelings about. I love the original arrangement, but nobody can sing it like EJ.

The last song  “Say,” includes the entire group and  (probably) ties up the episode.

Listen to the songs below.
