Dancing With The Stars Season 9 – Top 11 – VIDEO

Four new dances premier this week, the Bolero, Country two-step, Charleston and the Lambada. The Lambada? Seriously?

Mya and Dmitry are tied with…wait for it…Melissa and Mark at the top of the leaderboard with 28 points.   Melissa’s performance greatly improved this week, and she looked like she was having a blast. But, two 10s for that routine? I don’t think so.   Donny Osmond’s Charleston was better, and he only got 24 points.

I prefered Mya’s sultry Lambada to Joanna’s slutty er steamy routine with Derek Hough. But that’s just me.

I can’t understand why the judges give Chuck Liddell a pass every week. He’s not entertaining.   And Michael Irvin is a pretty terrible dancer too.   I’d pick him to head home, except for that football player effect.   The athletes seem to have a built in fan base.   I can’t decide who to pick to go home this week…

Oh, and Aaron Carter? Still a douche.

Live blog and Videos after the JUMP…

Chuck Liddell and Anna Trebunskaya – Country Two-Step -Their allowed to do lifts this week. Chuck is a horrible horrible dancer, and I don’t understand why the judges continually overscore him. He’s painful to watch. He did OK with the lifts, but his hands–he couldn’t maintain contact. Len says, “You bring entertainment to the show, your quality of dancing isn’t there.” Bruno says, “You bring carnage and mayhem to everything you do…but it still looks like a two -step.” Carrie Ann says, “I can see walking into the bar and seeing you two-step. I love it.” See what I mean? Only Len has sense. Carrie Ann – 6, Len – 5, Bruno – 6171-800-868-3402VIDEO

Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas – Charleston – Starts off in grainy, sped up black and white. Are the special effects fair? I’m thinking no.This is a lot more flash than actual dancing. But, Melissa looks more comfortable up there than she ever has. The crowd loves it. Bruno says, “You brought the flapper back to life, you have the role 110%” But can she dance? Carrie Ann says, “All the dancing was fantastic.” Len says, “Energy, Excitement and entertainment, you ticked all the boxes.” – Carrie Ann – 9, Len 9, Bruno – 1028 – Huh? It wasn’t that good. – 1-800-868-3410VIDEO.

Natalie Coughlin and Alec Mazo – Bolero – Alec decides to make the choreography difficult in order to prove themselves to the judges. Wow. Natalie is very flexible! Very nice job. Carrie Ann is on the fence, “I saw more of a struggle in the movements.” Len says, “I thought it had a lyrical, beautiful movement..needed a little more romance.” Bruno says, “I’m very happy you found your basic instinct. you have to watch your arms.” Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 8, Bruno 824 – Scores were better than their critiques. – 1-800-868-3413VIDEO.

Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff – Lambada – Aaron cried after he lost the top spot last week. Boo effing hoo. – Aaron’s got some fancy gymnastic moves, and some nice lifts, but the dancing is just a’ight. I don’t see much chemistry there with Karina. Len says, “I like your enthusiasm, but you should have spent time on the rhythm of the dance, and the raunchiness.” Bruno says, “You put everything you have…you have to translate a feel through your body.” Carrie Ann says, “You have to chill out, you’re going way over the top, you turn me off.” – Carrie Ann – 6, Len – 6, Bruno – 6181-800’868-3401VIDEO

Mark Decascos and Lacey Schwimmer – Country Two-step – Mark’s family came to visit him in the studio. Aw. I think these two are really boring, despite trying like hell to entertain. And I’m a Lacey fan. – Bruno says, “Your confidence is better…your footing was off.” Carrie Ann says, “Thank you..finally, the confidence was there.” Len loved the choreography, “You are really helping Lacey…heavy in your footwork…well done.” – Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 7, Bruno 7221-800-868-3403VIDEO

Kelly Osbourne and Louis Van Amstel – Charleston – Kelly lost a lead role in Chicago because she couldn’t dance. She’s much happier and confident this week. Her mom in the audience looks happy too. Carrie Ann says, “Watching you dance…it’s just wonderful.” Len says, “You came out with confidence, and you performed the dance…I would have liked a little more swivel.” Bruno says, “Great tribute to Fosse…a very good performance.” – Carrie Ann – 8 Len – 7,   Bruno – 8231-800-868-3416VIDEO.

Joanna Kupra and Derek Hough – Lambada – Derek is choreographing some tricky moves. Derek strips down for the first time. Whee! This is pretty steamy, Bruno will have to be hosed down. Len says, “Derek you never disappoint, a little bit repetitious , but great job.” Bruno says, “Don’t try this at home…when animals get physical. I’ve had enough for the next 6 months.” Carrie Ann says, “I hope some of the children are in bed…nice work.” Tom interjects, “I think some of the grown-ups went to bed.” Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 8, Bruno – 9261-800-868-3415VIDEO

Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson – Charleston – There’s going to be some scenery chewing tonight! Actually, this is really good. Makes me happy I picked him in the pool to win. He’s dialed back the stupid faces, allowing me to notice that he actually can dance. – Bruno says, “This really shows a showman in his element…you’ve got to be a bit sharper on the feet.” Carrie Ann says, “You travel together as a team..but I saw you stumble…but very good.” Len says, “You look good, you dance good.” Donny’s giant family is in the audience – Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 8, Bruno – 8241-800-868-3405VIDEO

Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova – Bolero – Tony, world champion bolero dancer, helps Michael with his moves. Bleah. Micheal has no rhythm and no charisma. Carrie Ann says, “I saw the romance, there wasn’t enough dancing.” Len promises to give him a higher mark this week. Bruno doesn’t see improvement. – Carrie Ann – 5, Len – 6, Bruno – 5161-800-868-3407VIDEO

Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower – Country Two-Step – OMG Cuteness Alert! Ty Murray, Chelsie’s last dance partner,   attempts to turn Louie into a cowboy. As long as Ty doesn’t give him dance pointers. Louie walking around the dance floor, twirling Chelsie around once in awhile isn’t that impressive. But who cares! They are soooo adorable! Len says, “It was just a series of walks…it didn’t have enough going on.” Bruno says, “It was slightly dazed and confused…not enough.” Carrie Ann says, “A little too much shuffling going on.” – Carrie Ann – 5, Len – 5, Bruno – 6 – 161-800-868-3406VIDEO

Mya and Dmitry Chaplin – Lambada – The partners worked together on the choreography this week. Not as steamy as Joanna and Derek–Mya’s got more finesse and skill. Mya dances like a pro, and that might cost her votes. Bruno says, “Erotic, exotic roller coaster…you beast.” Carrie Ann says, “Mya is on fire! Amazing. Sexy, sophisticated. classy.” Len says, “I never find your routines boring, but I thought I was going to get a bit more.” – Len, still working that grump angle! He’s totally following a pre-fab story arc. He’s not going to give Mya high scores until later in the competition. Carrie Ann – 10, Len – 8, Bruno – 10281-800-868-3411VIDEO
