Today’s thread is brought to you by the numbers 2 and 3.
“Truth Hurts” from Lizzo threepeats on top of the Hot 100. Leading the airplay chart for a second week is “Señorita” from Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes with 111.9M AI (+2%). The song holds steady in second on the Hot 100. Post Malone gets 4 songs in the top 10 including one featuring Ozzy Osborne at number 8 (the highest Ozzy has ever been on the Hot 100 – he also sets a record for the most number of years between top 10 appearances – 30 years and 3 months beating the previous record held by Dobie Gray at 30 years, two months and 1 week).
Post Malone manages so many top 10s because he released a new album this week. Needless to say, that album is number one on the BB200. He moves 489K equivalent albums (second highest for 2019) and 200K in traditional sales. The album has 2019’s biggest streaming week with 365.4M on-demand audio streams.
Melanie Martinez gained traction as a Voice contestant on Season 3. She was eliminated Top 5/6 from Adam Levine’s team, but went on to slog it to success in the indie circuit. This week, she earned her second top 10 BB200 album as her “K-12” debuts third on the chart with 57K equivalent albums including 30K traditional albums. Her debut album “Cry Baby” opened at 6th (40K equivalent, 32K traditional) and would go on to move 1.4 million units including 1.1 billion on-demand audio streams.
