  1. Pretty nice! I like Daughtry and love some of his songs and didn’t even know he was on AI until this year. :)

  2. Very nice! I didn’t realize he could hit notes like that either. I agree about the beard though. It needs to go!

    Thanks mj. :)

  3. i love Chris’s voice! and he sounded great! i don’t remember where i read it but i remember reading that Chris has a big range. so glad he did that for his fans.

and thanks, mj for putting it up.

ETA: chris always does stupid sh*t with his beard. i think it’s because he can’t do anything with his hair. :) but i still love him lots!!!

  4. He’s gearing up for his hiatus. That’s when he grows a beard.

  5. Love it! Thanks for posting! We’ve been asking him to sing a Christmas song for a while now so I’m glad that he obliged. LOL I guess Chris expresses his style with his facial hair since that’s the only thing he can mess around with. Not a fan of this style though.

RE: Range – I believe over at IdolRanges.Com, they have him as one of the Idols with the most range during Idol. IIRC, he has the lowest recorded note (for “I Walk The Line”) ever. I can’t remember his highest note though and I’m sure like all Idols, his vocals have improved a lot since his run on Idol so his range might have gone up even more.

  6. Great job! Only quibble is that I think the lyric is, “Till He appeared, and the SOUL felt its worth” instead of “spirit felt its worth”.
But yeah, Chris’s range is incredible. Nice hearing a song like “O Holy Night”.

  7. I see that he’s still losing batter with the facial hair…but hopefully he will win the war. Must fight the good fight and just say no to crazy manscaping of the facial kind. It’s distracting. See how much time we have dedicated to it after this beautiful version of Oh Holy Night? Seriously…he deserves better. Or perhaps we are just shallow. Yes and yes.

Yeah, definitely “soul.” But it was sweet of Chris to do this for his fans!! I love that song…I just like the way Kris Allen sings it more. But I’m a little prejudiced. And I do hope he trims that beird or whatever it is. I’m still loving the song Chris and Kris wrote together (Send Me All Your Angels). I thnk it’s one of the nicest songs on the Wal-Mart CD. I was never a fan of Chris on AI (I know I’m in the minority there!) although I do like a couple of his songs. He is very talented, and he’s such a nice guy.

  9. Very nice, Chris! Oh, and thank you for not being afraid to say “Merry Christmas” this time of year.

  10. I must be weird I didn’t think it was that good. But on the plus side the beard didn’t bother me. I think I have screwed up ears. My taste seems to vary from the norm.

  11. Don’t think he can hit those high notes? He can!

I haven’t played the video yet, and I know he can. Chris Daughtry has an incredible range. He hardly ever uses about half an octave of it at the bottom. Gonna listen now.

  12. I must be weird I didn’t think it was that good.

The sound quality is horrible. The acoustics in the room are really poor and Chris and his guitar sound tinny and kind of thin because of that.

that was sweet of him to do. He didn’t even go to the bottom of his range. I wonder if it’s easier to do a Twitvid than to put something up on a Myspace page? Maybe more people see it if it’s a twit vid because everyone following him is tweeted to go look? Just thinking about that–Is twitter the end of myspace?

Sounds one step away from visiting the Grand Ol’ Oprey.

  13. I follow Chris on twitter so have already seen this but watched it again anyway. Loved it. He was my favorite on the show and still is my favorite idol ever. He’s endeared me even more at how much he loves his wife and kids.

Don’t love the beard either but don’t really care. I think he has fun with it just like others do with their hair.
