Well. Controversy averted! A Dancing With the Stars source told US Magazine that the embattled ex-star of the Food Network, Paula Deen, turned down an offer to compete on the ABC reality competition.

The second bullet dodged? Fox reporter (and professional asshat) Geraldo Rivera tweeted that HE turned down an offer to dance, too.

The ABC Network has announced their fall premiere dates. Dancing With The Stars (now compressed into a single performance/results night) premieres on Monday September 16 at 8/7c pm. Nashville returns to NBC for season 2 on Wednesday, September 25.
