Carrie Underwood: Half Way Finished with her Next Album

Carrie Underwood called into the Ryan Seacrest radio show to talk about the upcoming sold out IHeartRadio concert in Las Vegas on September 23 and 24th.

She’s been “writing quite a bit” and is about half way done with her next album, but doesn’t feel quite ready to debut new songs at the IHeartRadio concert.

Without the over-the-top kookiness Jerry Lewis brought to the MDA telethon year after year, it’s a pretty boring affair. Our favorite Idol exec, Nigel Lythgoe did a decent enough job as co-host, but you know…zzzz.

MDA was wise enough to include a tribute to Jerry at the beginning of the telethon. Co-hosts Nancy O’Dell, Jann Carl, Alison Sweeney and Idol exec, Nigel Lythgoe offered personal anecdotes about Jerry.

American Idol 11 Auditions Head to Houston Texas

The very last city of cattle call auditions for American Idol 11 are underway today in Houston TX.

An estimated 10, 000 hopefuls turned up at Reliant Stadium this morning at 5 am after registering Wednesday and Thursday.

Host Ryan Seacrest appeared shortly after sunrise to get the crowd going and shoot some TV spots.
