It’s official. Pia Toscano is signed with Interscope Records. She’ll sing her 1st single, “This Time” nightly on the American Idols Live tour!

July 6, 2011— Santa Monica, CA — Interscope Records is pleased to announce that it has signed Season 10 American Idol contestant Pia Toscano to a recording contract and will release her debut single, “This Time, ” via all digital retailers on July 12^th. Toscano will perform “This Time” when she hits the road for the American Idols Live! 2011 Tour, which kicks off July 6^th in Salt Lake City, UT, and continues through the summer before concluding on September 10^th in Rochester, NY. In this Idol press day interview with Lyndsey Parker of Yahoo Music’s Reality Rocks blog, Pia Toscano says the American Idols Live! show will be a little different than what we’ve become accustomed to in the past few years.

Pia says there will be a lot of songs and people singing together that the fans won’t expect.

I got some SCOOP on the new Pia Toscano single “Counterfeit (Because)”!

According to a source who has heard the new song, the track is “a mid-tempo rhythmic pop track with a big chorus” and Pia’s vocal “sounds great” on it.

My source listened to the track several times and copied down the lyrics (It’s probably a matter of time before we hear it for ourselves!)
