New Date For “Country’s Night To Rock”

The CMA Music Festival TV special is shifting dates, in a move possibly influenced by the airing of the popular Teen Choice Awards opposite the originally scheduled date. CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock is now set to air Sun., Aug. 14 on ABC. (Original date was Aug. 7)

12, 000 auditioning for ‘American Idol’ at Heinz Field

After days of anticipation and, for some, an overnight wait, Pittsburgh auditions for “American Idol” are underway today.

A registered crowd of more than 12, 000 is seated in the end zone area of Heinz Field, although the individual singing portion of what promises to be a very long day has not yet begun.

Songwriter Marti Frederiksen tweets, “Back in with James Durbin and James Michael cooking up another one.”

Nigel Lythgoe, fresh off of 18 nominations between American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance, tweets, “Thank you for all your kind words this morning. For the first time in ages my Twitter site was #Moron free. Love y’all.”

Nigel Lythgoe reveals to TV Guide that DWTS pro and former SYTYCD contestant Chelsie Hightower will return as an All-Star, “Chelsie Hightower is coming back, ” Lythgoe says. “We’re delighted she’s coming back from Dancing with the Stars for us. She’ll be going back to them, of course.” The rest of the All-stars will be announced on tonight’s SYTYCD results show.
