Carrie Underwood – CMT Artist of the Year 2010

the CMT Artists of the Year at The Factory on November 30, 2010 in Franklin, Tennessee.

Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, and the Zac Brown Band were feted last night at the CMT Artists of the Year taping in the Nashville suburb of Franklin, Tenn.

The group watched from their tables while fellow musicians like Luke Bryan, Kid Rock, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Randy Travis and Smokey Robinson sang their praises.

Kevin Costner hosted the 90-minute special.

According to CMT, Carrie was “on the verge of tears as she addressed the intimate industry crowd, telling them she dreamed of a singing career as a child.”

Smokey Robinson told the crowd that Underwood first impressed him when she appeared on the audition episode of American Idol. Carrie sang a medley of three of her biggest hits from the year, “Cowboy Casanova, ” “Temporary Home” and “Undo It.”

You can watch Carrie and her fellow country artists receive their props when the CMT Artists of the Year premieres on CMT Friday (Dec. 3) at 8 p.m. ET.
