Big Brother 19 Eviction Results Week 5 Recap and Live Blog

Tonight is a live eviction episode of Big Brother 19. Read a live recap and join the discussion here.

Cody and Jessica are nominated for eviction, and one of them could be walking out of the house tonight. However, Jessica is in possession of the Halting Hex. This gives her the power to stop the eviction from happening if she chooses to use it. Will she use the Halting Hex to save Cody and herself from eviction? And who will win HoH? Let’s find out!

Paul told Jessica that Cody told Matt in the early days of the game that he wanted to keep Alex and Jason around so they can be the ones to evict Jessica and Raven down the line. Jessica asks Matt for confirmation, but Matt says that it’s not relevant anymore. After her conversation with Matt, Jessica approaches Cody to get his side of the story. Cody denies he ever had an alliance with Alex and Jason to target Jessica, and he’s upset that Jessica is having doubts about his loyalty.

Paul wants Jessica to believe the house will target Alex if she does not use the Halting Hex. Paul has no plans to follow through with this, but he wants the rest of the house to pretend to go along with this plan to target Alex. Jessica goes to the HoH room with Paul, Christmas, Elena, Mark, Matt, and Raven. They promise that they will target Alex if she does not use the Halting Hex. However, they are lying to her (with the exception of Mark and Elena).

It’s time for the Veto Meeting. In his speech, Jason says that Cody does not have a good personality and Jessica is just caught in the middle. In her speech, Jessica simply says “World peace!” and Cody says he has no speech. Paul has decided to use the Power of Veto on Jason. Jessica and Cody remain on the block. In the Diary Room, Jessica admits that she does not want to be part of any plan that will get Cody evicted.

Jessica overhears Raven talking with Jason and Kevin about her, and Jessica confronts Raven about this. She says it was really sketchy, and she’s upset with Raven. Later, Raven tries to explain herself to Cody and Jessica, but Jessica does not believe Raven’s claims that she was not talking about her. In the Diary Room, Jessica says the deal to not use the Halting Hex is now dead. Paul asks Raven what happened, and she tells her side of the story. Paul then talks to Jessica to see if the deal is still in play. Jessica candidly tells Paul that he’s playing a “psychological game” and that she will indeed be using the Halting Hex on Thursday, especially since Cody is the only person in the house that she trusts. In the Diary Room, Jessica says she won’t be controlled by Paul like the majority of the house is, and she has no problem being an enemy to Paul.

Paul is upset things won’t be going his way, and he orders his minions to personally attack Jessica and Cody. Josh goes back to banging pots and pans together to annoy them. Alex and Raven start screaming at Jessica, but Jessica stands up for herself. She tells them she doesn’t owe them anything since they are gunning for her. It turns into a shouting match until Cody leads Jessica outside away from the shouting. Even after Jessica and Cody walk out, Paul orders his minions to go outside to antagonize Jessica and Cody. Jessica and Cody are just quietly sitting on the hammock, but Paul, Josh, Raven, Alex, and Christmas continue to shout at and harass them.

It’s time for the live vote and eviction. However, it won’t be happening since Jessica officially uses the Halting Hex. No one will be evicted tonight.

It’s now time for the HoH competition. They must hit a ball down a ramp into a numbered slot. One by one, they will hit a ball. Whoever lands a ball into the highest slot will be HoH.
