Audition for The Voice S2 Using a Creepy Online “Audition Tool”

NBC has announced auditions for the 2nd season of The Voice. Hey, maybe the producers are considering fewer plants for Season 2? Nah. Probably not.

You can audition in two ways.  Either show up at one of the open casting calls or you can submit your audition online.

Check out the deets here, and watch Carson Daly describe the online “audition tool”, which will automatically grade your performance on pitch and tone.  If you are unhappy with your performance, you can re-record your submission.   C’mon, a software program that can pick out good singers?  Sounds like a big ball of fail.

Carson admits that the casting peeps will sort the submissions according to grade.  Weird.  I’m tempted to try it myself–but, uh, my score would be embarrassingly low.

I would really love to hear from anybody who has submitted an audition online using this creepy tool. Just post your experience in comments.

To submit a video, you must be at least 16 years or older and a legal U.S. resident, and have your parents’ permission if you’re under 18 years old.

Casting Call Schedule:

Chicago – July 15/16
New York – July 22/23
Nashville – July 29/30
Atlanta – August 5/6
Orlando – August 11/12
Houston – August 17/18
San Francisco – August 23/24
Los Angeles – August 30/31
