Asaf Goren Joins the SYTYCD 12 Top 20 (PHOTOS)

So You Think You Can Dance ended on a cliffhanger last week, when it was announced that a street dancer had to drop out and that details would be revealed the following week.

Not that production managed to keep it a secret. Photos posted on social media revealed Asaf Goren, the Israeli B-Boy who delighted the judges with his cultural spin on street dancing was the replacement dancer.  Alaine “Hurrikaine” Lauture, unfortunately, had to drop out due to injury.

During Las Vegas week, Asaf struggled with the choreography. Making matters worse–he got into a verbal tiff with judge Nigel Lythgoe after dancing for his life.  The combo did not bode well for his inclusion into the Top 20, and indeed, he was cut right before the teams were announced.

Last night, Asaf was got his second chance, earning raves from the judges who loved his performance with fellow street team members,
Lily, Jaja and Burim to choreography by Chris Scott.

To familiarize yourself with Asaf’s work on the show. Watch his impressive audition, where he did some amazing breaking.  Asaf gets into it with Nigel after dancing for his life.  When Nigel remarks that it’s not “so you think you can entertain” it’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” Asaf  inexplicably mouths off at him.  How far will the charismatic breaker go in the competition? You’ll have to join our live blogs on Monday nights to find out!
