In an America’s Got Talent series first, viewers will have the opportunity to decide which act will fill the final slot in this year’s live shows with AGT: America’s Wildcard, a one-hour special available exclusively on Peacock beginning Tuesday, Aug. 10.
Hosted by Terry Crews, five acts who the judges could not decide on will take the stage and perform one more time. Viewers can choose their favorite via Twitter vote, from Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. ET until Friday Aug. 13 at 7 a.m. ET. The winning act will perform on the live show on Tuesday, Aug. 24 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT).
Peacock TV is NBC/Comcast’s streaming service. If you get cable through Comcast, Peacock comes as part of the cable package. Otherwise, fans need to sign up and pay a monthly fee. Click this link for more information.
In the past, AGT or any singing show would air a separate wildcard show on the network. But saving content for the streaming sites is probably the wave of the future as networks promote the sites.
As far as the acts are concerned, Matt Mauser has probably got this. Considering his emotional backstory and fame, I expected him to easily make the Top 36. It’s too bad Patrick Kun didn’t automatically advance in lei of a dumb joke act like, Keith Apicary, for instance.
At least the five acts get to perform again, even if nobody is watching. Hopefully, NBC puts up videos for folks who don’t subscribe to Peacock.
