The Top 11 America’s Got Talent 2022 acts took the stage for the finals tonight (Sept 13). After America votes, AGT will crown the WINNER tomorrow night in a two hour finale. (Read our Recap).
The stakes were high this week. The fans expect acts to deliver the performance of their lives. Some brought it up a notch and others did not.
America’s Got Talent 2022 Two Night Finale Guest Stars Revealed
The Mayyas should take it all. Their performances have been consistent, while each week the group reveals another side of their artistry. The dance crew’s creativity and skills are unmatched this season. Another contender is Celia Munoz, who took a few steps back in her semi-final performance, but given a second chance wildcard, she reminded AGT fans why she’s the most creative ventriloquist to grace the AGT stage.
However, country singer, Drake Milligan has a very good shot at the win. He performed his audition song, “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” because his record label, BBR is releasing it to radio next week. It’s a new and creative way to market an artist–using a competition reality show to promote an album and radio roll out. He got the pimp spot, and ended fresh in voters minds.
Heidi Klum played by…Makayla Phillips!
Speaking of country acts, trio Chapel Hart, who came out blazing with a memorable audition, didn’t cut it this week. Never the best singers compared to other vocalists in the competition, the ballady song choice revealed their vocal weaknesses. Or maybe illness and/or strain affected their ability to sing in tune.
And Metaphysic took a big step down this week, as the tech duo tried to do too much at once. Sorry, but that “Elvis” was creepy. And out of sync! Fun faet: Makayla Phillips, who competed on both AGT and American Idol sang and stood in for “Heidi.” She said so on Instagram.
The remaining acts didn’t really up their games, but they didn’t blow it either. Magician Yu Hojin and comedian Mike E. Winfield didn’t deliver acts that proved they deserved their spots over more talented semi-finalists in their respective genres. Simon loves both acts, inexplicably.
