This week, you guys liked Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson a lot. So did I! Jena was in the bottom 3 last week. No worries for our Twilight girl this week, however. She plunked herself down at that piano and saved her butt.  Caleb was never in any danger, but last night’s take on Adele helped cement his position as a front runner.

I predicted CJ Harris would be the first boy to go. But now I’m not so sure.  Another week, another good performance. I think he’ll be safe from the bottom 3.   Alex Preston delivered a solid, if non-buzzy performance. He’s got people. He’s safe.  Jessica Meuse stumbled, thanks to bandzilla. She likely got a ton of sympathy votes last night. She’ll be fine. Dexter Roberts probably had every Bama fan in the nation voting for him, and then some, after his Roll Tide pandering. I don’t think he has anything to worry about.

Could Sam Woolf, the once and future winner, be in the bottom 3 this week? I think he’s still got people and will be OK. Majesty Rose was terrible two weeks in a row. But the judges pretended otherwise. She’s got people too, so I’m fairly certain she’ll avoid the B3.  Ditto Malaya Watson. But she could hit the B3. She was there last week, and is competing with fellow contestants who mostly delivered.

Ben Briley could be in trouble this week. The judges have been tough on him two weeks in a row. And if they’re confused by his performances, the general public may be too. Honestly, I think TPTB want to ditch a boy before the tour lineup is set. They choose Ben!  MK Nobilette improved this week, but I’m not convinced it was enough.

Prediction: Ben Briley and MK Nobilette hit the B3.  Maybe Malaya Watson joins them. Or there could be a surprise this week.  I predict MK Nobilette will be eliminated.  But don’t count out a shock boot right about now.
