It looks like TPTB on Idol on giving up on the American Idol summer tour, despite the Season 9 tour’s half-empty halls and canceled dates.
If AmericanIdol.com’s latest missive is any indication, the tour will be promoted in ways it has not been in the past with a tour section at the official website:

The American Idols Live! Tour section will include an interactive tour map where you can relive past tours, check out each season’s Top 10, the cities they played and the tour photos. Plus, you can share your stories from the previous 9 seasons of the tour!
