American Idol ratings are down compared to last year. But, FOX can’t be complaining, because they now dominate 3 nights out of the week.

American Idol averaged 21.94 million viewers and a 7.5 rating/22 share among adults 18-49 from 8-9 p.m., which was easily the top-rated show of the evening.

Fox easily led the night as American Idol was up 3% vs. last Thursday to a 7.5 adults 18-49 rating. But ‘Idol’ was down 21% from the 9.5 adult 18-49 rating for the equivalent episode last year (which aired on a Wednesday at 9pm).
