So, the official American Idol twitter account posted this weird meme that grouped alums together at high school lunchroom tables.

Who even knows what thought process went into decisions such as who to include or how to group them. Season 9’s Katie Stevens left the competition in 8th place, but since she stars in a Disney series, The Bold Type, so gotta include her, right? But the big question: Why is she lunching at a table with country season 16 lovebirds Cade Foehner and Gabby Barrett. Random! Season 14 alum Daniel Seavey may seem like an odd include. But ya’ll might not know he’s a member of the currently popular boy band Why Don’t We. It’s weirder that he’s sitting with the other season 16 couple Maddie Poppe and Caleb Hutchinson. 

While fans had their opinions on the meme, so did the idols and they are pretty amazing.

Newly married Katharine McPhee (to music producer David Foster) sits with season one and season 7 winners, Kelly Clarkson and David Cook, respectively. WHO KNOWS WHY! But she’s hoping Kelly packed enough food for two.

Season 17 alum Catie Turner and her Mary Roach shout out are EVERYTHING.

Maddie Poppe is straight up confused, while her season mate Ada Vox’s feelings are a little hurt

But no worries…Ada had better things to do.

Season 8 alum, Alexis Grace, has made her pick. Table 3 with her season mate Allison Iraheta and season 10’s Haley Reinhart and Pia Toscano.

And Season 10 alum Joshua Ledet HAS AN OPINION. Where is season 6 singer Melinda Doolittle?
