What could a group of American Idol alums be doing at the Idol performance show tomorrow? Season 7 alum, Michael Johns, tweeted a very cryptic message to fellow alums, Ace Young (S5), Diana Degarmo (S3) and Pia Toscano (S10)
Will they just be sitting in the audience, or is there something more going on? The use of the word “working” and “details to come” indicate that there’s more than just audience participation going on.

Initially, I figured the quartet was working with a local TV station to cover tomorrow night’s first performance show of the finals. However, Diana hints that she’s nervous she’ll trip on stage. That indicates she and the others will be part of the show somehow
Then it came to me! The Idol mic. You may or may not know that a microphone that will be used in tomorrow’s broadcast has been on an Olympic-style cross country journey–at times aided by Idol alums in their local cities. It lands at its final destination tomorrow, and I’ll bet Pia, Michael, Ace and Diana have something to do with that.
