American Idol Alum Laine Hardy Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Laine Hardy, winner of American Idol in 2019, confirmed in a Facebook post that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

“This wasn’t what I expected on the first day of summer,” Laine writes on Facebook. “My doctor confirmed I have Coronavirus, but my symptoms are mild and I’m home recovering in quarantine. Y’all stay safe & healthy!”

Sunday afternoon (June 21) the Livingston, Louisiana native, posted a photo of himself and a female friend at what looks like an ocean location. Not sure when or where the photo was taken.

Louisiana, where Laine had been quarantining with his family, has been hard hit by the coronavirus. While the state is in the middle of re-opening, coronavirus has been spreading throughout the state “in some places at an alarming clip,” reports NOLA.com

Sending out positive vibes to Laine that he gets well soon. Generally speaking, young people experience milder symptoms than older adults. While it appears that Laine will be fine, he’s just gotta make sure to stay away from the grandparents. Covid-19 is no joke. Stay safe everybody!

In the meantime, Laine recently released two new songs, “Ground I Grew Up On” and “Let There Be Country.” But instead of promoting his new music out on the road, the country singer has performed in a series of “virtual” online concerts. He is scheduled to return to touring on August 12 at the Umatilla County Fair.
