The second audition episode of American Idol season 18 is in the books! What did you think? I think this week’s talent was even better than the premiere. I think we have a show here.

My favorite singers from last night are in no particular order: Amelia, Lauren Mascetti, Geena Fontanella and Shannon Gibbons.
I thought it was interesting that while the show was upfront with Lauren Mascetti’s Nashville connections, they never mentioned that Lauren Spencer-Smith is up for a Canadian Juno award and had a video go majorly viral. Also, that Dillon James was an actor with a resume when his substance abuse issues began. In Luaren’s case, I suppose, she’s about to marry a well-known Nashville musician. It’s a great bragging point, but also tough to keep out of the backstory!
