Wednesday’s (2/24) American Idol 15 Wildcard show was taped on Tuesday (2/23). The original spoiler from @IdolSpoiler, that only had TWO contestants being chosen by America is actually not what happened at today’s taping.
UPDATE: The spoiler was also confirmed in a FOX press release. So maybe TPTB did react to our bitter complaints. Heh.
Only FOUR contestants were advanced straight to the Top 10 by the judges, leaving TEN to perform for the SIX remaining spots in the Top 10, to be voted on by America after the show airs tomorrow night (2/24).
The split falls in line with how wildcards were done in the past, although it’s backward. Usually the vote happens first, and the judges choose 3 or 4 wildcards to fill out the rest. In any case–glad that America gets to choose more than half of the Top 10.
The FULL Top 10 will be revealed on Thursday’s (2/25) LIVE show. After the results, the Top 10 sing for your votes.

A few more notes from the taping (from my source):
- Ryan Seacrest called the judges picks “The Fast Pass.”
- The contestants sat in chairs through the show. They did not light up, however.
- Lee Jean and MacKenzie Bourg played guitar. Nobody else had instruments.
- Harry criticized Thomas Stringfellow, and told Jeneve Mitchell that she sometimes comes off as polarizing. He’s not sure everyone will get it.
- Sonika Vaid gave Jlo the “goosies”
- Avalon Young wore her hair slightly curly. They tried to dress her up some (She wore a blazer and jeans).
- Jlo almost fell. Ryan called it “Scary” (It will probably be cut, though)
- Scott Borchetta commented on the four who advanced on the “Fast Pass” but he had to do his bit twice because he namechecked MacKenzie Bourg instead of Trent Harmon when Ryan asked what he thought of the 4 that the judges picked.
