Last season’s American Idol showcase, which took place at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, was so popular, that it’s coming back for the 15th and final season of the iconic singing competition.
Many fans agree that the hopefuls were at their very best during the showcase, where they were able to perform a song of their own choosing in a live setting. This was before the glare of studio lights, and the intimidation of the light up chairs, sucked the life out of the contestant’s performances.
The House of Blues, the venue where the round took place, was demolished in August. Producers are seeking a new venue, and just like last year, the round will take place in December. Watch out for that!
As far as the Hollywood Round, taking place as we speak at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, season 14 alums, Clark Beckham and Rayvon Owen conducted a little tour on snapchat Thursday night, and spilled a couple of new details!
The first two days of Hollywood round competition were Round One solos. On Thursday night, the remaining contestants were given their group assignments. Group performances took place on Friday. Final solos take place on Saturday.
Last season, at the end of Hollywood Week, 48 singers remained to perform for the Showcase, which determined the Top 24. We’ll see if the contestant elimination numbers stay the same or are changed up for American Idol’s 15th and final season.
