American Idol 13: Jena Irene Hometown Visit Farmington Hills MI (VIDEO) (PHOTOS)

Five thousand people gathered Saturday afternoon on the football field at North Farmington High School for American Idol 13 Top 3 contestant, Jena Irene.

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, Farmington Hills Mayor Barry Brickner and Farmington Public Schools Superintendent Susan Zurvalec, before she took the stage to congratulate their hometown girl.

Jena sang her original “Unbreakable” plus Parmore’s “Decode” and Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.” on the football field at North Farmington High School where the singer is a student. A parade preceded the concert along 13 mile.

Earlier in the day, Jena visited Hercules Coney Island where she served flaming Greek cheese with the traditional “Opa!” Jena had been a waitress at the restaurant. (Read about that at MLive)

There was a an online poll for hometown fans to choose between two songs, the winning song would be performed by Jena on Wednesday. It was between “Clarity” and “Creep” and…drumroll…”Creep was the winner!
