The American Idol 10 Top 13 Idols will sing songs by their favorite artists as they take the stage tonight at the CBS studios to pre-Tape their first show as finalists.
What do you think the Idols should sing? It’s a pretty wide open theme, so to help, I browsed the contestant profiles on AmericanIdol.com to find each of the finalists musical influences.
I’d love to see Paul McDonald tackle one of the classic Alt-Country artists, like Gram Parsons. Or how about Ryan Adams? Wilco? Mumford and Sons? (He’s actually namechecked M&S, so it could happen!)
Whatever Casey Abrams sings, I’d love to hear him tackle something current.
Thia Megia lists “Most artists I listen to” as her musical influences. Is that an indication that she has no idea what her sound is? At any rate, she should surprise us. She has covered Radiohead’s “Creep”. That could be a real surprise if the band would be willing to clear it.
