Shirley Halperin from confirmed in The Hollywood Reporter that a NEW Idol promo, featuring “Sing” by My Chemical Romance would premiere on FOX tonight.
In November, MCR frontman Gerard Way told The Hollywood Reporter, “The offer was pretty much a no-brainer. Any kind of infiltration is great… It’s something a lot of people are going to see and they’ll hear the music which is the most important thing.” Added guitarist Frank Iero, “I think it would be really cool if an actual band was heard on the biggest music TV show.”

“Do you hear that?….that’s the sound of dreams coming true…” The new promo sticks with what seems to be a running theme–an emphasis on the new judges bringing a new, positive vibe. Plus, there are more tantalizing shots of potential Idol hopefuls…
Also, Shirley reports that Steven Tyler made a surprise appearance Friday night on the Sunset Strip, closing the Camp Freddy show at the Roxy.
