Adam Lambert Interviews – Toronto – Audio

Adam Lambert is making the promotional rounds in Toronto, Canada today. One of his stops, was the CHUM FM studios, where he gave a lengthy interview you can listen to below. Adam talks about his time on Idol and his pre and post Idol careers.

Adam is also interviewing with the CBC and will be stopping by the Much Music channel later on today. I’ll post items as they arrive!

Update: Just added Adam on CBC Q in 3 parts. The host plays “Soaked” at the end of Part 1. Adam tells Q that Justin Timberlake suggested he put his own spin on, “recreate some Freddie Mercury stuff.” Adam says he’s filing the idea away.

2nd Update: Added the Kiss 92.5 interview. Adam tells the DJ that his album, For Your Entertainment went Gold in the US and Canada. And Adam is set to promote his album in Australia, Asia and Europe this spring.

3rd Update: Added the Much on Demand clip in two parts. Lots and lots of SCREAMING!

  1. Ok, I’ll make the first comment totally superficial – damn is he looking cute in that pic! Love the hint of make-up – like he’s glowing! :-)

  2. He is looking cute in his 4 layers, lol.

Another great interview. Love the bit about Neil—too funny!

  3. This was excellent! The Neil bit was hilarious. It is has been said ad nauseum that he is such a good interview, but he never ceases to amaze me. Adam’s considerable prowess and easy facility at verbalizing what he is thinking is what appeals to me most..beyond his voice, of course. Communicating on a verbal level is akin to breathing for me to I just feel this incredible affinity for others with whom I share the proverbial Gift of the Gab.

CBC interview has a much different tone–more intellectual–but it is also fabulous.

  4. Hi Tiger, thaks for posting. Q is a show on Canada’s public radio channel CBC. So it’s a more intellectual, artsy channel. Jian is a great host. He was the one Billy Bob Thorton had a meltdown with because Jian mentioned in his intro the BB was an actor.

Anyways, great interview. I loved that he dished on meeting JT.

  5. That interview was really nice, and I understand why people like to interview him. He’s a nice guy who’s appreciative of what he’s got. His parents have to be so proud of him. Each time his mom is show in the audience, while he’s performing, her face is simply glowing with love for a son.

  6. The Kiss interview that just happened was very short, I posted in the Media thread. They mentioned the album was gold in Canada.

So 40k isn’t much, but it is kind of cool though! How do Canadian artists make any money?

  7. Adam just said his album FYE is Gold in US and Canada!!! Yay!! Way to go Adam!!!

  8. Jeez…..not much else left to say except I agree with everyone, of course. I could listen to him talk all day.

Tiger92….I would be interested in his verbal IQ as well. I don’t know of anyone that verbalizes impromptu like Adam does. It’s so refreshing to hear someone talk without every other word being “um” or “ahh”.

I feel bad though being an American, that we as a society can’t let Adam live his life without being “up in his grill” as he put it. Maybe someday we can be more accepting of alternative life styles.

  9. I am so proud that Toronto is treating Adam well and I am so sad because I could not get off work to attend Much Music.

  10. Yay for the CHUM-FM DJ’s never once invoking the terms “American Music Awards” or “gay.” (I think — I did a little bit of fast-forwarding.)

Just started listening the CBC interview. The guy must have been flustered by Adam’s presence, since his first words are “…along with Canadian Jack Bauer, who plays Kiefer Sutherland.”

  11. will

The guy must have been flustered by Adam’s presence, since his first words are “…along with Canadian Jack Bauer, who plays Kiefer Sutherland.”

That was a funny moment! I listen to this show regularly and Jian is pretty cool. He has interviewed many VERY famous people and doesn’t usually get flustered–and as mentioned, handled the Billy Bob Thornton meltdown very well–but I guess the Glamtastic Charmer got to him too.

    Apparently, no-one is immune.

  12. It just so happens that both Jian and Larry Flick from Sirius XM are digging Soaked.

  13. Another amazing, articulate interview! I love this dj! His favorite song is Soaked and he plays some of it at the end.

Jian mentioned his favorite song was Soaked, and then said something like “at this moment” or “right now”. Can’t remember the exact words but it echoes the hundreds of people I have now heard talk about how their favorite song changes with their mood, what they are doing, over time etc. That is what a great album is all about!

He was the one Billy Bob Thorton had a meltdown with because Jian mentioned in his intro the BB was an actor.

If you haven’t listened to this interview, go find it. It’s amazing what a b****rd BB Thornton can be. Jian Ghomeshi deserves a medal for putting up with that. He remained calm, and very professional over the entire course of the worst interview I’ve ever heard.

Sorry, don’t know how I managed to get the quotes and my comments confused but…..excuse challenged blogging skills.

  14. Fab interviews!!!

    Isn’t a performance also scheduled…?

    Me greedy! Buwahahahahahahaha!

  15. It is always insightful to hear Adam think on his feet while giving non-egocentric, highly intelligent answers using a great vocabulary. However, the last 2 interviews on KISS 92.5 were so irritating with that loud background music that it just provoked anxiety in me while trying to hear Adam’s answers.

  16. It'[s great he’s gone gold in Canada, maybe with more promotion he will sell a lot more.

  17. OMG to that interview with Billy Bob Thornton….

    What a douchebag, yikes!

I bet the footage is beautiful, wish I could see it right now. Do anyone know when we are going to see the AOL sessions? I hope they don’t get delayed like Kris and Allison’s sessions.

As far as I know they are scheduled to be posted the 28th. This guy responded saying soon but not tomorrow since they were working with the photos now…

  24. The fans at MOD(Much on Demand) have pretty much gone insane over Adam! These fans are all teenager/young 20s that I can see. Plus they do not stop screaming! lol He had to move closer to the host so he could hear her questions. We Canadians love us some Adam – YAY!

  25. Welcome Luv, great to have you back. We really missed you and your viewpoint.

  26. You all are going to so love this interview from MOD! It is so funny and so Canadian…
This girl just gave Adam a beautiful book and I thought she might faint when he hugged her. It was epic TV lol
(Much Music is the Canadian version ov MTV basically)

  27. So good to have you back, Luv. I missed all your comments.

Well…it’s a GREAT day in Adamland! So excited to hear Adam’s album went “gold” here and in Canada! I have to say that the Canadian DJ’s really to give Adam alot of respect and have asked some different and good questions. Adam is always so articulate, friendly, humble, and fun when he does interviews. He’s an interviewers’ dream!!

And how great was it to see all those young fans waiting in line to see Adam?! The INTERNATIONAL PROMOTION of Adam has begun!!

  28. Hi Luv, glad to have you back. You have a looootttt of catching up to do, but please do your homework first!!! Hope your family and yourself are doing ok. Lots of Adam news to help cheer you up!!!

The issues features five of pop’s movers and shakers including tween sensation Justin Bieber, Adam Lambert, Gerard and Mikey Way from My Chemical Romance and Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship. Each pop star was shot by Mark Abrahams. Magazine will hit news stands on Thursday.Check out some of the photo here.

“And how great was it to see all those young fans waiting in line to see Adam?! The INTERNATIONAL PROMOTION of Adam has begun!!”

Isn’t it great, I am so glad he’s getting a lot of international press. It sounds like the Canadians love him and are buying his album and single. He said in another interview that he was going to Australia, Europe and Asia to promote his new album. They will love him and his music.

  31. Sounds like there may have ben a bit of craycray going on at Adam’s MuchMusic appearance this afternoon…

@slytherins: HE NEEDED IRL SECURITY TO KEEP THE PEOPLE AWAY AND KEPT ASKING FANS TO STEP BACK

  32. thanks saga!! stunning…..just stunning!!

…not only an interviewers dream..Adam is obviously a photographers dream as well.

  33. I wonder if RCA told Adam his album’s gone gold in the US? I still don’t understand why they use units shipped for this — I don’t understand why it simply isn’t units sold. After all, what’s stopping a label from simply shipping out 500K copies of any artist’s CD and then claiming it has gone gold, no matter how many it actually sells? Adam’s album will get to 500K in sales soon enough, but I’m admittedly totally confused as to why a label can use units shipped as a marker for gold, platinum barriers

  34. Thanks for making it so easy to get all the updates.

Just wanted to let Canadian fans know that Adam will be interviewed on The Nat and Drew show (Virgin Radio Vancouver) tomorrow (Tuesday) morning around 7.30 am. Virgin radio are big supporters of Adam and have both his singles on their playlist. They also stream online, of course.

  35. I’m liking the Canadian fan demographics in those pix….young!!

  36. Lots of second hand embarassment comments from the Canadian peeps on ontd_ai who were able to watch this Much Music thing live. It sounds like there was some definite cray cray and that Adam seemed a little scared. So it’ll be interesting to see when the YouTube videos pop up. He also had to watch (and maybe judge?) some homemade fan videos of FYE???

  37. girlygirl:
I’m pretty sure it’s just the way it’s done. Plus, it’s not like FYE has only sold 250K and they are saying it has sold gold. After this week, FYE will only be 20K to 30K away from going gold. I’m fairly certain the record company has shipped way more than that to stores.
It’s not a huge stretch. It will get there.

That is the way it has been for as long as I can remember…i believe to get certified it is shipments minus returns — which provides a disincentive to overship just to be able to certify (you don’t want to have a ton of returns). But I think these days, record companies will not say or publicize that something has gone gold or platinum until the actual units sold are pretty darn close to the target number…since adam was about 40K away from gold in the usa (and the record company has a pretty good idea of the amount of sales last week already), I am sure that they told him it went gold…

  39. The MuchMusic thing was very screamy and very teenage girl thing, which was a nice contrast to his CBC interview of earlier in the day.

Anyway, won’t re-hash minute by minute. My impression were that Adam was a bit overwhelmed by the screaming girl thing at first, but handled himself as usual–sweet, professional, engaged. He had to move his chair closer to the interviewer. He had to quieten the room more than once.

I can hear the future discussion about the make-up because he was definitely sporting, but so were the hosts. Obviously, the makeup department believes: more is more. The lighting didn’t help.

There was one young girl there who was chosen to pose a question and then got to give him her book that she had created. She was trying SO hard to keep it together and when she got not one but 2 hugs, and started to cry, I admit I teared up a bit. It was a sweet scene and for anybody who had one of these celeb crush as a teenage (or, frankly, a 40 something woman) it was hard not to be happy for her.

What a day’s work for Adam. Good, fun, radio gigs; intellectual, more cerebral radio gig; some tv appearances in between; an over the top teenage girl screamfest.

One thing I was left with? When Adam goes on tour, how will he play it knowing that there are SO many teenage girls in the audience? It isn’t an audience necessarily fitting for the type of adult free expression we know he likes. He certainly managed on the Idol tours, but he doesn’t have to be PG13 any more. Just slightly curious about how he may play that.

  40. Its nice to see him doing promo outside the US!!

and Happy advanced birthday Adam!! Guess going gold would be a nice brithday pressie for him.

  41. I’m a bit surprised that Adam said that his album is gold in the US, when it isn’t (yet). It will definetly go gold in a few weeks. But as I know that Adam is not a liar, I’m sure that he said that because that’s the information he’s got from his label. Oh, well. It will soon be the truth.

  42. My understanding is the musicscan or whatever its name is only covered 90% of the album sold to customers. Those sold on AO or retailers not reporting to AC Nelson (or whichever organization) can easily make up for the 50k short in the public chart. I think the label has access to more accurate info than we can gather.

  43. Does anyone know…is there an upper age limit on the audience for Much Music? From some of the tweets I saw, it sounded like there were a fair amount of older fans there, but they didn’t get into the studio — perhaps because they were too old?

  44. Welcome back luv! Here’s some of what you missed:
    1. He’s covering red carpet for ET at the Grammys.
2 He was at the Critic’s Choice awards.
    3. He was at the Heaven Gala ball.
    4. He was at the SAG awards.
    5. He did a photo shoot for Flaunt mag. Not sure when it will be out.
    6. He was on Ryan’s radio show.
    7. He was awesome on Oprah.
    8. He will be on Ellen tomorrow for her birthday show singing Strut.
    9. He’s doing a bunch of Canada promo now.
    10. HIS VIDEO CAME OUT!!!!! It goes on sale tomorrow and was 11 on the VH1 countdown.
    11. Justin Timberlake met him and discussed songs.
    12. His CD I’d released in Brazil today.
    13. His AOL sessions is on the 29th.
    14. He did a PSA for Haiti on ET.

Phewwww. I’m sure I missed some stuff. I don’t recall alot of drama. He is not back with Drake.

  45. At the very end of ET they said they will be announcing, tomorrow, the star that will be their fashion correspondent at the Grammy’s.

Then, on ET Canada, Adam was on for a very brief interview at the end of the show. It was quite edited, I wish they had shown more. Oh well. He was really good, anyway.

I watch much music all the time and while I’ve never heard them say there’s a age limit I’ve never seen anyone in the audience that looked over 20’ish so I think there might be. I love how us Canadians go bat shit crazy over everyone(we love everyone cause were cool like that)You think this is bad, watch Justin bieber appearance on MM, crazy! anyway thats great that he went gold! I hope that his total album sales will be around 800k, that seems like a respectable number that I think he can pull off if WWFM really takes off(I don’t know if it was said here but its been in the top 6 on Canada’s itunes for a few days)

  47. Girlygirl,

upper age limit on the audience for Much Music?

Yep, there is. You have to be under 25, which is their demographic, I believe.

It was definitely a teenage girl thing, although there were a few boys.

Outside was definitely an older crowd. They had to get some extra security I’ve heard.

The city was generally buzzing, not surprizing since I think Adam covered every major outlet…except Canada AM and The Hour, apparently. Fail on their parts.

  48. YaY for Adam making it GOLD in US and Canada for his birthday!!! Here’s to hoping that he will be Platinum this time next year! :)

I love the fact that Adam has fans from all age brackets. This will, no doubt, serve him well throughout his career.

You know, I have thought about the exact same thing. I’m hoping that the one thing Adam may have pulled from the AMAs is that he needs to consider the audience when performing. Of course, for the AMAs this meant the TV audience. I feel confident that he will take all these things into consideration when touring. Adam is very smart! ;)

  51. MOD makes me miss the halcyon days of TRL.

Ke$ha’s video message to Adam was cute. She’s right, too. :( :P

  52. I must be getting old .. I can’t stand screaming teenage girls .. guess it’s just as well I’m not a pop star .. lol

  53. I must be getting old .. I can’t stand screaming teenage girls .. guess it’s just as well I’m not a pop star .. lol

Under normal circumstances, I’d agree with you, but it sure is GREAT to see a whole audience of teenage girls screaming for Adam. I read in the thread somewhere that there’s an age limit, but it’s still awesome to see that he’s reaching various segments of the population!

I loved hearing and seeing all the teenage girls today at MuchMusic. There is a perception out there of Adam’s fans are more mature and this appearance went a long way to showing that he does have a VERY strong and vocal younger fanbase as well. I don’t care if they skewed the demographic for television. People have seen plenty of his older fans, it’s time to let the young ones in.

Canada loves Adam!! I think today showed that to him and TPTB that he will be able to tour here. Yeah!

  55. oh yeah . don’t get me wrong .. I love that he has younger fans and reaches to all age groups I just wish they were on mute some times .. and that also includes the old screamers as well … lol

    Thanks Mainegal,bridgette12,Cher,lorismile,and bowie1

Luv don’t thank us, we simply missed you and the fun you bring to all our little talks on this site.

  57. I’m listening to z100 for quite a while now. Usually in interim they have Gaga, BEP and Britney, all these pop stars’ pretaped ‘hi this is XXX’ to promote z100 non commercial program. Tonight for first time I heard Adam’s voice and his part was the longest one. yay~~~

  58. Ok just listenEd to the Q interview. Really fantastic. He is correct that we haven’t seen an openly gay sexual man. He just oozes it and isn’t afraid to hide it so good for him. It is part of a revolution. I wish this guy could interview Adam every couple of months. Loved him talking about how Neil should name drop him to get laid!!!! Lmao!!! We get witty, funny Adam and then intellectual Adam in back to back interviews.

Off to listen to the others. Such a great Adam week this will be!!

  59. Luv, I missed you too. Welcome back. Wish the best for your family.

I totally get what you mean! Those screams are deafening. LOL! How fun for Adam!

  62. I totally get what you mean! Those screams are deafening. LOL! How fun for Adam!

yeah it’s probably better than them sitting in stoney silence .. and who knows, as “mature” as I am it could be that if I were ever in his presence I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from making inappropriate noises of some description … i’d probably just look at him and make an audible squeak like I had a slow puncture .. lol

  63. It’s great to see that Adam has a passionate teenage fanbase also, after reading all the stuff on the internet you would think all the idols’ fans were middle aged women like myself.

  64. Not done yet but his “more is more”. HAHA. So typical Adam!! He cracks me up.

Adam’s album will get to 500K in sales soon enough, but I’m admittedly totally confused as to why a label can use units shipped as a marker for gold, platinum barriers

This is the way it has been done for years.

Basically, once the store has purchased x amount from the record company, the store has 30 days in which to return before it counts as a sale. When the practice of certifying by orders rather than scanned sales was introduced, that wasn’t in place and, as such, records could be declared platinum on their day of release if 1 million copies had been shipped.

The system was primarily introduced to protect the artists and others who would be receiving royalties from sales. Accounting by units shipped doesn’t give the record company much opportunity to practice their old “one for them, two for us” methods that resulted in so many artists, etc, being fiddled out of their royalties from a substantial number of sales.

As for FYE, given the number officially sold (scanned sales) at the end of last week, the likelihood is that it has been gold on scanned sales for at least a week already, if not two. Unfortunately, the only items for which fully accurate sales figures can be instantly known are those that are available solely or mostly on downloads. Soundscan and subsequently HDD and Billboard do not get returns from each and every outlet but the record company would be aware of these sales for accounting purposes. Therefore, it’s not uncommon for there to be anything from 50k to (unlikely) 200k more sales in actuality than those accounted for from the outlets that are used for returns (these discrepancies are running total, not weekly, so it doesn’t tend to affect chart placings for any given week).

They’re not jumping the gun here. They’ve actually been at pains to not declare FYE gold before time.

another radio interview : virgin radio

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1yFtsvf4XQ

OMG, thank you for posting this link! That is one of the greatest interviews I’ve ever seen Adam do. I loved the segment at the end with the DJ’s gay friend asking Adam about his requirements for a soulmate/lover. Totally fun! I also loved how laid-back that DJ was.

  67. I love that Adam has tons of young female screaming admirers. The fact that he generates such a response bodes well for the longevity of his career. You aren’t really a star until you have screaming fans like this. I think it’s great!!

  68. Teri63 – I totally agree about the virgin radio interview. Really and truly Laugh Out Loud. She was great with him and he with her. The ending was so cute. Just loved this!

  69. The from Virgin Radio in CA. Wonderful questions including how much money he has now…not filthy rich but very comfortable for years ahead. Favorite food..anything! Finally told the interviewer that it wasn’t her business whether he kissed his date…Good for you Adam! Keep things close to the chest.

Said he would love to be the opening act for Lady GaGa. Sounds like things are in the “works”!

  70. That virgin radio interview is a riot. Did he describe guys he’s attracted to as “pretty androgynous elves?” hehe. Loved the interviewer. She was so real!!

  71. Finally told the interviewer that it wasn’t her business whether he kissed his date…Good for you Adam! Keep things close to the chest.

I admired Adam for his great handling of that question, too. I loved the interviewer and how relaxed she was and seemed to make him, but being so relaxed might have made many interviewees looser tongued. For someone who admits he lacks filters, Adam is certainly learning how to share parts of his personality while still keeping private matters private. He’s always been an impressive interviewer, but all the practice he’s getting seems to be making him even better!

  72. Regarding the Virgin Radio interview…….I love him describing what he looks for in a lover/soulmate. Pretty androgynous elves? Hmmmm…..where have a seen such a boy?? Somewhere I’ve seen somebody that fits this description….seems he plays bass guitar for somebody if I recall correctly. Hmmmm….. :)

  73. What amazes me about all of these interviews he’s done in Canada, they have been a lot better than the ones done in the U.S(except for Oprah). I also thought that “pretty androgynous elves” line was hilarious. His ex-boyfriends certainly fit that description.

  74. Hmmmm….. :)

That was the first thought that came to my mind, too. LOL!

  75. He needs to have all his interviews in Canada! They are all made of win for different reasons. Virgin radio interview was so funny and the guys face when Adsm said elves-crestfallen!! LOL.

So Adam mentions opening for someone as a possibility. I do think the Gaga crowd would be one to allow him to let loose. What a concert that would be! Talk about 2 for the price of 1!!!

    So much epicness today!!!

  76. I wonder if Adam didn’t realize Tommy was straight until after he hired him. In an interview somewhere I recall Adam saying his gaydar had been broken recently. Could he have been thinking of Tommy? There are only so many pretty androgynous elves out there, so for Adam to find one who appears to be straight is kinda funny. Just speculating here ….

  77. OMG Glenn is the designer on Take This House and Sell It. That’s so funny.

Anyone have a question for Adam? I just got this tweet:

@inMusic Big @AdamLambert interview tomorrow! Tweet back with questions!

  78. I apologize, but I just have to flail for a moment. I live in Michigan and our local pop station has never played Adam. I was checking their online playlist Saturday and saw that they played him twice that morning….2am and 5am. Nothing on Sunday, but today they played him at 6am and again at 6pm tonight. I missed both, but when my son came home tonight he came in the door yelling for me asking if I heard Adam’s interview on 97.5 this afternoon. “WHAT?!?!?!?!?” I yelled. Obviously taped, but they played a call-in interview with him today too. I quickly emailed the PD to see if they will put in on their website. It’s just soooo exciting that our local station is finally picking him up.

    :) :) :) :)

  79. Clearone,

I agree on the No to Gaga. I personally like her quite a bit but I don’t like this idea for some reason. Adam is creative like she is, but I feel like his friendliness and his self-awareness (knowing he is campy, kitchy at times) flies in the face of her concept which is much more guarded. I know she loves her fans, but with Adam’s Idol experience he is that much more known on a personal level and I think it would be a stark contrast to her show. Maybe that’s good. Dunno. Does this make sense?

She seems to have no limit in her productions. I love the avant garde, performance art stuff and I welcome the visuals Adam always talks so animatedly about…but at what point do the visual become a distraction? Not sure. Just with Lee Cherry on the flaming headress thing.

In one interview Adam did today, he genuinely and very humbly (as is his custom) dismissed the idea of headlining a show. But I hope they can work that out. Nobody will want to tour with him because he will be some hard act to follow. LOL!!!!

  80. Belle, I’ve never seen anything indicating that scanned hard copy sales—which are all hinged to a point-of-sale system that is just as accurate as the sales system for digital downloads—are not counted as accurately or on as timely a basis as digital downloads. It is known that there are some unscanned sales—the biggest examples of that are sales at venues that are not Soundscan certified and do not have the point-of-sale systems, and Christian bookstores—but I’ve never seen anything to indicate that with a typical, major-label artist, especially one not selling in Christian bookstores and not selling at venues, would have sales off to the degree that you are claiming and not because of some sort of timing issues.

The other thing is: RIAA certifications for albums are still based on shipments and not sales. But you have fewer inflated sales because of the different music market and labels are less apt to go for a certification where sales are hundreds of thousands away from the relevant certification level, to avoid the problem where someone sells only 700K but has been certified platinum.

Bottom line: FYE has likely been eligible for gold-certification for at least a couple of weeks, based on shipments.

  81. Is Adam on drugs or something, he sound weird.

I doubt it . he sounds just the same as he normally does in all the intervews to me .. if there’s any difference in his voice on any of them I would say it would be due to over excitedness or tiredeness . he seems to have been going like the energiser bunny with the amount of interviews he’s done today . he must be knackered

  82. Is there a link to the Virgin Radio interview? I don’t see it on here

  83. @tls62

I understand your excitement! I was beginning to think no radio station in Chicago was every going to play him and I finally heard WWFM on Kiss FM today on my drive home from work. I almost couldn’t believe my ears. Speaking of ears, Adam must be deaf after hearing those girls screaming in that Much on Demand clip.

  84. I loved his hair on ET, and I liked his outfit today.

Oh and cute interviews, though with many many many old questions. Oh and much screaming at the MOD thing, and with lots of younger fans, so hey, guess it isn’t just women of “a certain age,” and “sparkle cows.”Funny that.

Seriously? Yay! I actually heard part of it on WBEZ (Chicago public radio) on my drive home from work today. I was so excited because I was flipping stations just thinking that I’ve only heard it a couple times at night on the MIX, when I ran across it playing on 91.5. It turned out to be just a sampling of the song accompanied by the interview Adam did today on Q. I was finding it quite ironic that when I finally randomly ran across WWFM on my car radio, it was actually from a broadcast out of Canada. LOL!

  86. Ahh, Adam, slow down! I leave the computer for a few hours, and suddenly all this stuff goes down – lol.

Re Gaga – when he said that in the interview, I just about DIED! Ok, I love Gaga – and I for one think it would be BRILLIANT for Adam to tour with her (if it could actually happen). I mean, really – she is HUGE right now, selling out everywhere, and he is just starting, not to mention his style is so complementary to hers. I really don’t understand NOT being a fan of this pairing. It only serves his interest to be introduced to her fans (and there are a TON of them). Win win imo. Plus, she’s one of the only acts who could actually have Adam open for her and NOT be upstaged completely by him. IDK, I love it, and hope it happens (but who knows with logistics, etc.)

Though I still think it’s weird that she toured so briefly in the US, and is now going to Europe, Asia, and Australia. I imagine she’ll tour back in the states again, since the demand is so high.

Love the interview – he looks adorable (as always!) Ahh, I just need every night to be filled with Adam-y goodness :-)

  87. he fly from l.a. and then spent the entire next day doing these radio interviews and a television appearance? while being relentlessly entertaining in all of them?

and he’s building a rabid female fan base that encompasses tweens to grannies. somewhat of a social anomaly.

he really is something to watch (it is such a high entertainment level, after all).

  88. The city was generally buzzing, not surprizing since I think Adam covered every major outlet…except Canada AM and The Hour, apparently. Fail on their parts.

Not sure “fail” is quite the term to use. Canada AM is the morning show on CTV which is the new owner of MuchMusic, while The Hour is on the CBC which had the Studio Q interview.

I’m sure Canada AM and The Hour, both of which have excellent interviewers, will get their chances at some future occasion, perhaps when Adam comes back for a concert stop in Toronto.

  89. Goodness Adam, don’t you know that I have a very demanding job that requires me to concentrate, and when you have days like today it’s very hard for me to get my work done? Interview after interview, a TV appearance, gorgeous photo shoot, music video released… wow, keeping up with Adam is like a full-time job all by itself.

Today was great on all counts– funny and thoughtful interviews, he looked and sounded great, surrounded by screaming fans… What a day– well done Adam!

  90. i think adam has a possibility of opening for christina aguilera..they are on the same label and it cant be a coincidence that just in the last couple of interviews hes mentioned her over and over, and in the virgin interview he basically says that hes an opener….she has a cd coming out soon and a tour so i hear

I would die for that, but I don’t want to get my hopes up, lol–they may have Adam open for someone else, or someone not as famous, or do his own smaller club tour (although those other options have their appeal too), but I guess we’ll see. :)

  92. I am sooooo happy Adam is not headlining! He really needs to expand his fanbase and opening for someone established would be awesome, especially if it’s someone like Gaga.

  93. Oh cwm-

I’m right there with you on the hard work that needs me to concentrate- but Adam and all this (glorious) Adam- storm keeps luring me to come in…

Anyway- I can’t listen to that virgin radio intv, or any of the new ones Saga just posted, but I’m understanding he hinted he may tour with Gaga or Aguilera?

Hmmm… wow… both possibilities sound great! I think Gaga would be the better possibility for him though, because of the crazy exposure.

I know Christina has a lot of fans, but I’m not sure they’re as diverse as Gaga’s.

I just hope he gets to act out his vision if he is merely an opening act… I mean, it would probably be at the cost of some of the staging he would like- and will probably have a shorter set than if he were headline his own small tour…

I am sooo glad I’m not him or his manager, making those kind of decisions seems really hard…

  94. Anyway- I can’t listen to that virgin radio intv, or any of the new ones Saga just posted, but I’m understanding he hinted he may tour with Gaga or Aguilera?

The lady interviewer asked who he would like to have as an opening act and he said he would probably be the opening act. The lady said; but you’re Adam Lambert! He answered, yeah, but they are them! (like really big stars). Then he said he would love to open for Gaga. He never mentioned Aguilera.

  95. Virgin Radio interview was the best I’ve heard. Very conversational, very easy and natural rapport with the DJ. Good “make you smile” stuff.

urrrrrr- then I want to get home already- so I can listen!!

Say- does anyone know when the Ellen show is supposed to be broadcast? As in, when will we be able to see our bb stuttin’ his stuff?

I love that he said in one of the interviews that he’d like to bring back the decadence of the 70’s, but with all the lessons we’ve learned from then- not hurting yourself (probably reffering to safe sex) or others in the process…

  97. oh, those interviews are awesome :)
I was late for work, because I just HAD to listen to them all
I am very happy that he has younger fans too, but the screaming lol,

  98. I am sooooo happy Adam is not headlining! He really needs to expand his fanbase and opening for someone established would be awesome, especially if it’s someone like Gaga.

Exactly! He is so new to this thing, so to imagine him selling out stadiums at this point is crazy, and I loved his response to that question in the interview, very grounded, very realistic (re “I’ll probably be opening for someone else.”)

I also loved his answer re being financially secure. There have been comments online about how much Adam is in the hole for the album – and it’s like “how do we have any clue what his financials are like?” With RCA, with 19? Unless someone has insider knowledge, there is no way of knowing. Not to mention album sales (and deluxe albums at that) net way more money to the label than say, single sales.

I have a feeling Adam makes a good amount for a lot of the tv, media, magazine, etc stuff he does as well. Even doing gigs like Vevo, etc. So happy he gets to live his dream – he is so immensely talented, and that’s all I want for him :-)

Re younger fans – oh, yeah – judging by the tours, GMA, Early Show, he has a pretty broad base of fans. Sure, it skews older just because of the AI factor, but IMO he and Kris have the youngest fans. Danny, otoh, probably skews much older.

  99. Some of the best interviews he’s done. The Canadian djs sound a heckuva lot smarter than most in the US. And of course the interviewee is the best.

And YAY for the screaming girls.
