Adam Lambert Excited to Perform at the AMAs, Recording with Howard Benson

Adam Lambert talks Paula Abdul, Michael Jackson, the upcoming album and his performance at next month’s American Music Awards with Laura Saltman of Access Hollywood. The interview took place after Adam announced the AMA nominations with Paula Abdul and Snoop Dogg.

He also addresses a couple of persistent rumors:   So far there’s no confirmation that Adam will either be appearing on Saturday Night Live, or touring with Lady Gaga

Adam describes his upcoming album as a pop album where “old meets new”.   The melodic and vocal stylings will be reminiscent of 70’s classic rock and glam rock, he says, but produced in a way that’s very modern.   He can’t wait to stage a live performance of his new single on the American Music Awards, where he is set to perform.

And as Adam told Ryan Seacrest on the Idol host’s radio show yesterday, the lead single from the album hasn’t been chosen yet…

Also, Laura hints that she’s got more news that’s embargoed until Tuesday, so stay tuned.

As if performing on the AMA’s and having his music video for “Time For Miracles” debut with the Michael Jackson documentary, This is It, isn’t enough news for one news cycle..

Bonus Tidbit:   Last night, Adam tweeted news of a new collaboration, “Workin w Howard Benson tonight!!!! This album is gonna be Siiiiiiiiiiiick“.

Howard Benson produced both albums by Daughtry.   Add Benson to the list of collabs that include, Rob Cavallo, RedOne, Linda Perry, Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly.

UPDATE: New tweet from Adam, “Thanks to @ali22san and @ohferras for coming to the studio and lending their voices to the song we wrote together!!”
