He recently revealed he battled depression and anxiety, and after parting ways with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco in 2014 it appeared his blossoming singing career was on hold.
But James Arthur looks to be coming back with a bang, after being signed back on to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco this week.
After topping the iTunes charts, the 28-year-old former X Factor winner was snapped back up by the music mogul.

ULTIMATE comeback king James Arthur re-signed with Syco to prove to boss Simon Cowell that he was wrong to swing the axe.
Chatting in his first interview since rejoining the same record label that dropped him in 2014, James refused to shy away from his mistakes.
The 2012 X Factor winner knows his self-destructive behaviour and bad decisions lead to his downfall.
But he has vowed to right the wrongs he believes both he and the record label made first time around.
An open and honest James said: “I re-signed due to a mixture of guilt for letting them down, but I also felt they let me go too soon.

On Saturday night’s episode, viewers watched in disbelief as Kirsty Murphy stormed into the audition room seemingly gatecrashing another acts performance slot.
But eagle eyed viewers have blasted The X Factor after noticing the 21-year-old was already wearing a microphone – hence the impromptu invasion was not as authentic as it seemed.
The dance teacher was so scared she had missed her chance to sing in front of the judges as midnight fast approached she ran into the audition room.

An X Factor hopeful who got four yes votes during last year’s audition process, but was told to come back this year when it was revealed she was five months pregnant, has revealed her frustration after she was rejected from the show.
Amanda Lister was reportedly promised by Simon Cowell that she would be let straight through to boot camp stage when she returned this year, but says she was left raging when she was forced to go through the audition process again before being rejected.
The 34-year-old hopeful, who is now mum to five-month-old son Thomas, spoke to Sunday People about her disappointment.

Emma Bunton has reportedly joined The X Factor.
While her Spice Girls co-star recently filled in for judge Nicole Scherzinger at auditions and has been asked by Simon Cowell to assist him at Judges’ Houses, the music mogul is also believed to have called on Emma for help.
According to the Radio Times, Emma joined Mel and Simon in Malibu, Los Angeles on Friday to help them whittle down the hopeful in the Girls category ahead of the live shows.

Simon Cowell signs £25 million deal with ITV to keep X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent on the channel until 2019
Simon Cowell has signed a three-year contract extension with ITV for the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
The two hit shows will remain on the channel until at least 2019 and will earn the music mogul, 56, £25 million – the same sum he earned from his last re-negotiation in 2014.
He told the Daily Mirror: ‘I want to thank ITV for continuing to be fantastic partners. I’m delighted for the shows and, in particular, for all the talented people who work on them with us.’
