One Direction confirm plans for a fifth album
The band were speaking at the first ever BBC Music Awards
One Direction have refuted rumours that their fourth album will be their last.

‘Four’ was released last month and it had been rumoured that it could be the final LP from the boyband. However, speaking at the inaugural BBC Music Awards in London earlier this evening (December 11), the group confirmed that there would definitely be a fifth album.

“Yes, there will be,” said Niall Horan, when asked if there would be another LP from the group, despite the fact that bandmate Liam Payne had just mysteriously commented: “We’re just so happy that this album (‘Four’) has gone really well for us and it’s kind of given us somewhere else to go with music now, if we do happen to do another one…”.

The band are set to appear on The X Factor this weekend, the show on which they formed in 2010. Speaking about last weekend’s headline-grabbing performance of ‘Uptown Funk’ by contestant Fleur East, Niall Horan commented: “What Fleur did at the weekend was pretty special.” Liam Payne added: “That was a huge performance. You don’t often see people doing a bit of boogie-ing on X Factor and it was well structured boogie-ing. It was amazing.”

Tragedy! Zayn Malik ditches the quiff for a Seventies curtained-look at a One Direction book signing
Zayn Malik’s hair has had another transformation, and this time it’s taken a step back in time to the Seventies.

Because the One Direction lad could have been a member of The BeeGees thanks to his luscious long locks and curtained hairstyle that framed his bearded face.

Though in comparison to his Teddy Boy ‘do at the American Music Awards, Zayn’s latest style is a bit of a tragedy.

One Direction tell X Factor losers: Roll with it
Ben Haenow has won X Factor, but One Direction know it’s not all about the winning.

They know exactly what Fleur East and the other runners-up will be feeling.

Losing on the show didn’t send them into pop oblivion – totally the opposite – and they’ve given Newsbeat their tips for this year’s unlucky finalists.

“You’ve been on an amazing platform and got some of the best teaching you could ever get anywhere,” says Liam Payne.

The group finished in third place on series seven in 2010.

Matt Cardle who won that year had success, but nothing like the phenomenal careers of the five boys who were put together by the X Factor judges.

Some Boys: Ronnie Wood Performs With One Direction
Mick Jagger once said, incredibly, that One Direction reminded him of the Rolling Stones. And apparently Mick’s bandmate, Ronnie Wood, feels a similar kinship with the boy band. X Factor U.K. viewers were in for a massive surprise Sunday, when the Stones axeman, age 67, joined the 1D lads (ages 20-21) on the show’s Season 11 finale.

“It’s a Rolling Stone! RONNIE WOOD!” howled the arguably most Jagger-like One Direction member, Harry Styles, as Ronnie bounded out, rocking a gravity-defying ‘do that put Harry’s lush locks to shame. As Ronnie joined in on the new 1D single “Where Do Broken Hearts Go?,” at one point Harry bowed down at Ronnie’s booted feet, dropped to his knees, and played air-guitar. Meanwhile, Harry’s bandmate, Niall Horan, played real guitar and excitedly traded licks with the Stone.
