Whitney Houston Offered Seat on X Factor Panel (Report)

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Whitney Houston has been offered a spot to take the place of vacating judges, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. The legendary pop diva is said to be considering an offer.

Whitney was spotted at a pre-Grammy bash on Thursday, hosted by singer Kelly Price at TRU Hollywood, where she reportedly clashed with X Factor contestant, Stacy Francis The 48-year-old diva is also expected to appear at Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy party on Saturday.

Even off drugs, Whitney strikes me as still pretty cray cray. If she’s supposed to bring an element of unpredictability to the panel, then I suppose she’s the right choice.  I can’t imagine her as a level-headed mentor of hopefuls.  Maybe she’ll surprise me.

On the other hand, this report could just be Simon trying to get some buzz going for his show.

    Simon Cowell was just on CNN and he said he was going to talk to Whitney about the X Factor on Monday.

    This has to be the craziest thread we have on this site.  I did not expect Whitney to die all of a sudden while we debate if she is a good candidate for X-Factor or not. I had no idea that she was sick/in trouble.  Very sad for her mother and child.

    I read somewhere that she partied very hard the night before she passed away… Still, her passing is a great loss… I could have seen her as a guest judge/mentor though… Condolences to her family and friends.
