Survivor Cagayan: Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty – Meet the Cast!

CBS announced today the 18 castaways who will compete against each other on SURVIVOR, when the Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 28th season with a special two-hour premiere, Wednesday, Feb. 26 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The spring edition of SURVIVOR, filmed in Cagayan, a province in the Philippines, will be themed “Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty.”

The groupings of these tribes, each comprised of six castaways, reflect the distinguishing qualities that people bring to the game and test whether there is any truth to the pre-conceived notion that that certain characteristics will help you win the game of SURVIVOR. All castaways will compete to outwit, outplay, outlast and ultimately be crowned Sole Survivor.

The season’s cast includes a high-stakes poker player, an attorney, an ex-NFL cheerleader, a nuclear engineer, the president of the Miami Marlins and a former NBA All-Star. Will the Brains use their expertise solving puzzles to outsmart the others? Will Brawn dominate all the challenges given their physical attributes? Or will Beauty use their looks to master the social game?

The battle unfolds when these three tribes compete on SURVIVOR:

the stereotypes seem pretty watered down for the most part… maybe my opinion will change after getting to see them a little more

Please let the nuclear engineer work for NASA. Then everyone can say “Hey, it’s not rocket science!”

  • Miz

Can I vote Garrett Adelstein off now? His reason for being on Survivor is win enough money to impress girls in LA? Goodbye.

Oh, and I’ll vote out Spencer Bledsoe too. Twirp.

  • Peter Hewitt

Whoa, what a really young cast! Hopefully it’s a good season!

A lot of these contestants could fall into another tribe based on first appearances.

The Beauty tribe though…embarrassing if that’s their distinguishing trait cause they are not good looking.. Makes you wonder how they fare in the brain and brawn departments.

  • Miz

I think I’ll be rooting for Woo. He’s the most likable and has the most winning qualities to me based on their interviews and the video.

  • Sara

Based on physical appearance only, I’m liking Woo the best. Hopefully his personality doesn’t suck.

  • Damien Roberts

Yeah, many of them seem like they could fit in a number of areas.

The Brains vs. Brawn vs Beauty thing seems to be a little dumb. The guys on beauty and brawn could be interchangeable, hell even the poker player could go on any of them. J’Tia is the person I’m most impressed by though.

  • catlover84

Yeah, some of the Beauty don’t even belong there. And some of the Brains can easily be in the Beauty. Maybe the Beauty is only a tribe for those who are not qualified for the other two tribes. It’s like, brawn, brains, and others. But we’ll know better after the show starts.

I have a feeling that the Beauty tribe will get treated by opposing tribes as the weakest link..or perhaps there’s more than meets the eye?
