Season 7 Idols – Latest Updates

As the tour winds down, the Season 7 American Idols get ready to begin their post Idol music careers…Â   Here are the latest updates

David Cook unveils his website today at DavidCookOfficial.com.   Looking it over, it’s got tons of interactivity for fans–blogs, forums, fan photo section–and David promises to keep in touch!   Check it out here. Cook’s debut album has an official release date–November 18.   The single from the album will be released by early to mid-October.

David Archuleta’s not-so-official album release date is November 11.   The runner up releases before the winner?   Does it matter?   I think they’re both going to sell a butt-load of records. David’s single “Crush” is officially released and being added to pop radio playlists as we speak.

Kristy Lee Cook’s post-Idol album “Why Wait” drops this Tuesday, September 16.   You can listen to her album at CMT.   Her single “15 Minutes of Shame” is currently #45 on the Hot Country Songs chart.   She’ll be appearing on Live with Regis and Kelly on Friday September 19.

Hi everyone, I wanted to write you guys and say thank you from the bottom of my heart. This has been the Summer of a lifetime. All of us have just had the time of our lives. It has been the most fun roller coaster ride ever. Playing infront of 10 000 plus people a night is something that is reserved for very few artists. There were certainly nights it was hard to muster the energy. However seeing the fans and feeling the music, lifted me up to new heights.

Michael is going Indie, rather than sign with a label.   He plans to release a single by Novmeber, and an album early next year.

    I don’t think it matters who releases their album first but we are sure gonna hear from the bloggers how dire this news is for Cook etc, etc. I am a Cook fan and I cannot wait for the “record” and I hope Archie’s album does well. I have faith in David Cook’s ability to record a great album.

    About the website – no reference to American Idol at all on the home page. So different from his myspace page, where it prominently announces he’s the American Idol winner. Guess this is David’s way of progressing . . .

    I think David Cook is so much more than just the American Idol winner. I see it as definite progress.

    I don’t care about the competition aspect of it anymore. First, second – I don’t care. I love David Cook most – but Archie is such a stand-up guy. There is enough room for both of them.

    Both Davids are going to do great. Season 7 should prove to be a history maker where the winner and runner up both do well and are heard on radio stations all over. I’m curious to see the numbers when they come out. I’m planning on buying both cds for sure.

    I hope she releases an album, but why do I have a feeling that she’s going indie like Michael? I dunno.

    I do hope Brooke has something waiting for her when she gets home. I can’t wait to hear new music from her. Her recording voice is seriously my most favorite ever.

    We’ll see. A lot of media sources wrote Cook off as the second coming of Ruben Studdard, and the decision to have Archie release first will likely add fuel to that. We’ll just have to see if 19/RCA is interested in Cook enough to give him promotion to counteract that, if it isn’t too late already.
