The Voice came in #1 last night, and served as a solid lead in for the debut of Revolution on NBC. Via Marc Berman

The Voice took top-rated overnight honors of the evening with an 8.8 rating/14 share from 8-10 p.m., peaking in the 9 p.m. hour with a 9.2/14. Comparably, that outdelivered two-hours of the season-premiere of year-ago time period occupant The Sing-Off (3.5/ 5) by a whopping 151 percent. And it offered solid lead-in support to Revolution, which won the 10 p.m. hour with a 7.9/13. Comparably, Revolution was 103 percent above the series-premiere of short-lived The Playboy Club one year earlier (3.9 on 9/19/11). And the loss in rating at 10:30 p.m. (8.2/13 to 7.5/13) was only nine percent. This is a stellar start for Revolution.

URR is part of UMG, actually. But it’s one of the worst labels, IMO. They are specialized in suck the blood of people who are already famous (and most of them aren’t even good singers) and one-hit wonders.

Those are very good numbers for NBC. Maybe it’ll stop their freefall.

Cackling right now. I need to see Simon’s face.

The real test will be when DWTS and other shows start and when the blind auditions stop.

I’m really enjoying The Voice.  It’s entertaining and I like the chemistry between the coaches, in particular Blake and Adam.  I watched AI for 7 years and haven’t since.  I can get the info here without having to watch :)

I think Revolution will Terra Nova, but it remains to be seen how long The Voice c can keep up their ratings. Especially after the auditions –which seem to be their strong suit.

    But we’ll see overall.

Hopefully they’ll tweak and improve the later stages .
The Voice UK managed to make the Battle Rounds lively and fun by condensing them into only two shows, and keep the high ratings. The downhill only started with the live shows.

You know when there is nothing else on, need I say more!!! NBC has been going down hill for some time now, I think I could do a better job of programing than they do. I don’t know who is in charge of their station but it is not good, it’s like they haven’t a clue to what people want to watch!!!!!!!

The Voice/Revolution did well but there really was no competition.

But NBC was smart to do a second season — too bad for Fox they did not think of doing this for Idol back in 2005-2006.
