What’s going on with Elliot anyway? Was that song released to radio yet?

He might show up on AI this season. They love Elliot.

The song is stalling on the Top 40 chart. But it seems to be very slowly building some momentum and getting added by some Top 40 stations. This will def be an uphill climb for a variety of reasons including the fact that he’s not backed by a major label.

AI pimpage wouldn’t hurt but I’d be very surprised if he was on this year. They’re running out of slots.

Sorry, I can’t edit where I am. I’d be surprised because it would be third year in a row for Elliott. And I only count 3 available slots after JHud and Archie on the show.

Come Back To Me seems to be catching on I wish he had chosen a different song for his single, though. My dad heard it on the radio and said he got bored after 40 seconds. Good for Cook, though. I’m glad it’s doing well.

Syesha Mercado is supposedly going to be in one of those 3 available slots. Top 5 results show according to VFTW.

Interesting about Syesha. I’ll be disappointed if Elliott isn’t on because he could really use the exposure. On the other hand, I’m really not expecting it. Plus eventually the song will either make it on its own or not.

Well they can have 2 idols on in one night. So Elliot might still return.

I find all this Number thing so uninteresting…I think the day of Top Radio anything is so far gone that to have a top 40 anything is ludicrous. If I get into anyone’s car they are playing a talk station as opposed to a music station since they get their music from a CD or their Ipod. Radio spins no longer make or break a musician IMHO.

Great to hear that CBTM is on the HAC and AC charts but we will see if it ends on the pop stations. I can’t really understand Top 40 stations anymore! Sometimes it takes forever to get a decent song tp get airplay on Top 40!

lefty – GOOD! Nothing against Syesha, but without any new music to promote, I really don’t think she deserves a spot on the show this year. Now MELINDA, on the other hand, most definitely should be on there. Her album is AMAZING.

Even though the show seems to hate Taylor, they could get two Idols for the price of one if they brought him and Elliott back together to sing Woman’s Gotta Have It from Taylor’s new album. Would give them both a chance to do a little promoting.

Yes, CBTM is actually moving very quickly on CHR as well – but with the lack of playlist diversity and the power-rotation nature of that format, it takes more spins to chart there. Here’s where it stood last night:

And after this morning’s update it was up to 267 CHR spins, so it’s now probably charting somewhere around #56-58 on Top40.

I’m still hoping Taylor will be asked back but I guess the odds are slimmer and slimmer as I would guess idols that have been more commercially successful will be asked back closer to season’s end. I hope that is not the case. He should get some consideration being a past winner.

I wondered when Frankie Avalon was on if they planned a duet of BSD and Taylor said”hell no” LOL

Yeah, the drop is better than I thought it would be. If he gets above 16k this week I’ll be thrilled. The baseline before Idol got down to 7K, so it’ll be interesting to see next week if CBTM already starts having some impact or if it takes longer.

Nope. The latest certification for Carrie’s Carnival Ride was 2x platinum back on 12/13/07.

And CBTM is starting to fly on HAC. Also CBTM is the most pop song on Cook’s album and I always had the feeling that this song will be the one to open the door with a welcome mat on top 40. I must say, this is a great day to be fan of these Idols.

Ain’t gonna happen. Elliott BY HIMSELF stands a better chance of being invited back on the show rather than Taylor Hicks. Taylor is pariah to the show and the producers would rather forget him.

Notice how Taylor has only been invited back ONCE which was at season 6′s finale and never after that, even as former idol winners have been invited back more than once ( not only in the finale but in the regular show to promote their singles or records ). Kellie Pickler herself has returned more than once to allow her to promote her record. BUT NOT TAYLOR.

Nice job CBTM I was one of its detractors when it was first announced as the next single but it is a prettier song than Light On and I’m glad it’s proving me wrong.

Those album numbers are quite nice as well, if he can stay 15-20k I’ll be very happy with this week!

I am also wondering why Melinda Doolittle hasn’t been asked to sing on the show since her album is just undeniably fabulous!!! For that matter, why hasn’t David Archuleta been asked back as well…..if any Idol needs promotion, it’s him. I am glad to see he is touring and I am looking forward to his concert at the San Diego Fair this summer, but I’d like to see Archey back on the Idol stage….does any one know if this will happen?

Archie is coming back Top 3 night.

No idea what’s he going to sing though.
