MJ’s Idol Pool Week 8 Update

Thanks, MJ. As always, I’ve changed my points about 5 times today and might do it again! Currently, I think I have 15 on Carly and 5 on Brooke.

AI’s main page says Mariah sings “Bye Bye” tonight.

I suck at this, honestly. I won’t even try anymore. LOL.

I do agree that Carly and Brooke are in the most trouble. I actually thought Carly fared okay, but even if she didn’t get the death slot, she went right after Little D whose chances of falling prey to the death slot are almost as tiny as KLC’s chances of coming out one week with absolutely nothing sparkly or glittery (is that even a word?) on her. She may have picked up a few of MJ’s voters from her stool time, but I doubt it was enough to save her.

Brooke’s fanbase should have power-voted, on the other hand, from her near breakdown and visible shakeness. SHe probably got some pity votes, too.

Well, since it looks like it’s going to be Brooke and Carly in the bottom 2, they should have the paramedics ready to go. A truckload of tissues during the after party wouldn’t hurt, as well.

I just hope this isn’t another shocking boot night. Hope it is Syesha, but fear it will be Brooke. Wish it would be KLC but that just isn’t gonna happen tonight.

I’m putting most of my votes on Brooke (15). She was my favorite girl. She’s lost her confidence and has had several bad performances in a row. “Saving” her seems futile at this point. I’ll probably buy her album, but watching her on my teevee is becoming uncomfortable. I hope we can put her out of her misery tonight.

My other 5 points will go to Carly. I think she did better than Simon thought, and her fans (hopefully) will power vote. Plus, I have her to win it all, which won’t happen, but she definitely had a better vocal than Brooke.

ETA: Plus, Brooke would be better at the WHC dinner than Carly. She can tell GB “It’s okay!”

Should I even try. Last week was a total bust, and I actually think tonight will be as well. I was thinking 10 each for Syesha and Carly. Brooke was worst by a mile, but she is just so darn sympathetic I just don’t want to anticipate the puddle of goo she will desolve into when she is booted. I just don’t know but since my ranking is like 456 it really doesn’t matter, eh?

I too suck at this. But I also decided to put everything on Carly. I’m so far down on the totem pole it won’t make any difference to anyone else so I’m just doing it for my own amusement.

I was thinking of doing that 15-5 split too, pj….but I may just end up putting it all on Brooke. I don’t think putting her in the bottom 3 this week and then allowing her to survive another week will help her find the confidence she’s lost over the weeks. Plus Hero will be a nice boot song.

BUT, she has fans. And she’s likable. And she had a better spot than Carly. And she took some risks with her performance.

Ah…another tough week.

I’m betting it all on Brooke because that’s who I WANT to leave.

Well, at 13, I kinda think I should hedge a little. I have no chance of winning with my overall Carly pick unless I start going for broke. Ah, decisions.

Well, we know it is Carly, Syesha and Brooke in the bottom three and it is going to take about 50 minutes of filler(okay, maybe a decent roup song, l’m looking forward to Elliot, and Mariah’s ‘Bye,Bye’ was pretty good on Oprah) just to get to the bottom three.

Given Syesha’s utter lack of a fanbase, I wouldn’t be surprised if she got the boot, but what a note to go out on.
And Brooke’s steady descent since “Let It Be’ is painful to watch, and I don’t think she’ll ever adapt to this stage but she does have a real following.

Which brings us to Carly and that phony Mariah it is nice to meet you greeting, when she is clearly on the record as having met Mariah before.
I thought Carly, DavidC and Michael J would have been a dream top three.
But a continued lack of sincerity off-stage usually translates to a lack of sincinerity on stage and it shows in Carly’s vocal.
It is time for Carly to go home to Road Map Face and wonder why she settled for so little, whin if she truly had believed in herself she could have had so much more.

Yeah, Abbysee, I’m tied with a zillion others for like 72 or something like that, so I’m not sure why I get so worked up over my picks, lol.

For the first time this season I am nervousing because I’m afraid Brooke is leaving. She’s my fav but, realistically, her performance was very poor and she deserves to go.

If Kristy ends up going, I will be surprised because she has really raised her game the last two performances. I would like her to stay at least another week because now I’m curious about what she will sing and how well she will perform.

Unless Randy’s favorite doesn’t mean anything, Carly could go….but that’s highly doubtful. At least at THIS point.

I called Carly’s number a lot last night and had a really hard time getting through.

Okay, who is Aunt Edna and why do I care what she thinks?

I am hedging my bets between Carly, Syesha and Brooke. My brain is telling me that it is Carly but my gut tells me that Syesha’s time has come. I put the least amount of my points on Brooke just because I think she may have garnered pity votes and she is perceived as the “likeable” of the three. Wouldn’t it be a hoot if Kristy finally got the boot. I am rooting for Carly to stay in because she just fascinates me and makes for good TeeVee.

Honestly, I don’t keep up with any other ‘Idol’ forum except this one and idolforums and I don’t even post there anymore so I haven’t ventured to find out who Aunt Edna is and what it is she does but maybe it’s a good time to find out. After all, if I’m gonna post stuff from her, I may as well find out what she is about and if she is somewhat authentic.

Edited: I used to enjoy Aunt Edna’s guessing games. Yes I see it is not really hers, but had fun guessing anyways, lol. Aunt Edna worked for the phone company.

I’m going with the 10/10 split between Syesha and Brooke. The week after a shocking boot is the week america tries to “get it right”, and I think Brooke gave the worst performance while Syesha has the weakest fanbase. I don’t feel like it’s Carly this time.

But, I SUCK at this too, so what do I know? LOL

Possibly Brooke? I don’t know what the reference to the “kid’s song” is or anything, but the almost spelling out part could refer to a song called “Brook” or something. Besides, Brooke is in trouble anyway.

I put 10 on Brooke and 10 on Syesha but after getting 2 points last week when I picked DC to leave (oops! paranoia is a terrible thing) I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being Carly.

Nigel loves that gimmick. I think it’s here to stay. That said, they might not want to be too mean after the criticism they received last week. On the other hand, they might want to be even meaner because of all the press they got last week.

If I’m Nigel and ratings are all I care about, here is what I do tonight:

1. Pull David C up and have him stand on one side of the stage. Then, pull David A up and have him stand on the other side of the stage. Have Ryan say “America, what have you done?” and go to commercial.

Result: Everybody is glued to their TV sets for the rest of the night because which TCO is getting the boot? BWAHAHA!

2. 10 minutes later, I pull up Brooke and stick her with David C. BWAHAHA! Now David C is grouped with the worst of the night. What does that mean? Then, I stick Jason with David A. LaLaLaLa! Jason and David C share fans. Which group will the fans hope is the bottom 3?

3. 10 minutes later. Parcel out two of the remaining 3 girls. Ryan “You all know what happens after the break”.

4. After much stalling, Ryan: “Every year, during top 7, we have somebody pick which is the safe group. We aren’t going to do that to you this year. So-and-so, I’m sorry, but you are going home”. Group hugs.

The internet explodes. Every water cooler discussion is about which group was the bottom group while others keep shouting “Ryan never said there was a safe group”. Plus, they can talk about the “new twist” and whether it was meaner to do that than make them pick a group.

Nigel smokes a cigarette.

Dial idol has Brooke, syesha, and carly in the bottom three. Not that that means anything.

@Kirsten: LOL! And now if only that would happen…*sigh* It’d be interesting to see that happen, though. Melinda has inevitably started the “Sit in the middle of the stage and refuse to pick a group!” trend, so whomever is picked to choose tonight will probably do the same (providing they watched Melinda do so last season). OK so I can’t see the bottom 3 being any other than Syesha, Carly, and Brooke. Out of those 3, I have no clue who’s going home.

They won’t make Kristy pick the safe group because she’s too boring, or David A. because he’s, well, David A. I don’t think they’ll do that to David C. after the obviously emotional time he had last night. Which leaves Jason. He’ll probably just stand there and look confused. (Don’t hate, Jason is my favorite.)

I am so bad at this Idol pool. Everytime I pick someone who I am sure is going to go, they are safe and the one I didn’t put ANY points on goes. So now I’m using reverse psychology or whatever to get rid of Carly. I DIDN’T put any points on her and put all my points on someone else. So, if things go as they have, CARLY WILL GO. I won’t get any points, but my mission will have been accomplished!!

Hope you’re right Judy. I have all my points on “the Irish Girl”. I sucked last week (as did a bunch of peeps). and have done poorly several times to the point that I thought about “trying” to come in dead last just for fun.

LAST week I totally forgot to put my votes in! I’m so programmed and I usually make my picks at around 8….

Well, last THURSDAY the show was on at 8 and I completely spaced it and just thought it was going to be on at 9.

So yeah, no points for me!

This week I’ve split between Carly and Brooke. While I think Syesha didn’t put out a good performance, I do think she’s got enough support behind her to keep her safe another week. I think she’s alright.

I’m putting slightly more on Carly than Brooke however.
