2nd UPDATE: Just added two more videos–a short press conference, and Kris giving advice to contestants from the 11 am American Idol Experience show.

UPDATE: I just added a Q&A video with Kris, after the jump. Check out this photo gallery HERE.

Kris Allen and his wife Katy spent the day today at Disney World in Orldando, where he arrived via motorcade down the park’s main street, Hollywood Boulevard, cheered on by hundreds of fans. He performed “Heartless” for a crowd in front of the American Idol Experience attraction.

After the jump, watch Kris perform “Heartless”. The video is the first bit of media posted by Orlando Attractions Magazine, there’s more to come, so keep checking back.

Bonus: More photos from the Orlando Sentinel HERE.

Kris Allen Q&A

Kris Allen Press Conference

Kris offers advice to the 3 contestants performing at the 11 am show

  • elw

Kris is a sweet and nice guy, he fits in Disney.

  • Tess

Kris….this is the part of being the American Idol that fits you so well. You will be fantastic as the spokesperson for the year, and the general public will love you to death. I do hope you and Katy will have a few hours to yourself to just enjoy and soak it all in.

  • GeminiDolly

    Kris is adorable.

  • Sunn

    Oh poor Kris. Mini?! Really?!

  • wjmtv

Kris and Minnie. It doesn’t get cuter than that.

I’m so glad he’s getting to sing “Heartless” more often.

  • TKat

Oh, as an Adam fan, I am so glad Kris won!!

I can’t see Adam at Disneyland with Minnie.

  • adh1018

That was fantastic!! Great job Kris!

  • Lemon_C

Is he flirting with Minnie at the end? … LOL
    Heartless is the BOMB, man.

  • http://myspace.com/pm68 Pam

awwwww I love the pic of Kris and Minnie. :D Great performance of Heartless too. :)

  • monleo1705

*heart just cracked a little* Awww…Kris…..your cutsie face with minnie mouse, how puppy dog adorable is this???

LOVE LOVE LOVE his Heartless, no matter how many times he sings it…it’s good that Katy is following him around. Poor boy must be beat from all the travelling….wifey can help with tender lovin :thumbup_tb:

  • girlygirl

I hope both Kris and Adam get a bit of a break before they have to start rehearsing for the tour. Both guys look exhausted (although they are still singing great) — and their voices could probably use a few days of rest.

Question about the Idol Tour — I was thinking of going to the date out here in L.A., but not if I’m only going to be surrounded by a bunch of screaming tweens. What type of crowds actually attend the tour — mostly young kids/tweens, young adults (20′s), older adults, mixture of all of the above?

  • Michelle

I actually think as a young couple with no real tiedowns yet this will be a blast for Kris and Katy, the first few years off Idol. And it’s wonderful to have that sort of built in grounding there too. I hope they have a lot of fun :)

Kris looks so freshly scrubbed in these pics, lol. Loved Heartless, of course.

  • Kirsten

Great interview with Kris at EW

Discussing everything from lip-syncing on the show to exactly why he painted his fingernails to what the “jerk” comment meant.

BTW Minnie looks smitten. They look cute together.

Is the post-Idol DW event a first? I remember that Cookie did the Christmas event, but since the AI venue wasn’t ready this time last year, did he do a concert?

  • wand3rful

saw a clip of kris saying his schedule doesnt permit the time for any ride :( booo hisss handlers, let the boy enjoy splash mountain

  • AC

Kris and Minnie are so cute! Mickey’s going to get jealous! haha.. This makes me want to go to Disney World. damn American Idol and all the crazy sponsorships! haha

  • dahirsh

Oh, as an Adam fan, I am so glad Kris won!!

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see Adam at Disneyland with Minnie.

I could. But maybe that’s just me.

And the Idol Experience is at Walt Disney World, not Disneyland

  • Victoria

Aww, Kris and Minnie! Too cute!

Question about the Idol Tour à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ I was thinking of going to the date out here in L.A., but not if Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m only going to be surrounded by a bunch of screaming tweens. What type of crowds actually attend the tour à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ mostly young kids/tweens, young adults (20à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s), older adults, mixture of all of the above?

From my experience, I’d say it’s pretty much a mixture. A lot of families and that kind of thing.

  • wand3rful

Thanks Kirsten for that EW link….great interview indeed. Kris discusses Danny, the painted fingernail, Christians and b*tches. Yeah, you read rigth LOL

  • musicisthelife

    Another awesome performance!

  • Michelle

A lot of families, but it’s a very mixed crowd.

  • annabelina

Great interview with Kris at EW

That interview is beyond awesome. Count on the folks at EW to ask the best questions. Kris is such a stand up guy.

I was glad “Heartless” got so much hype, even if I didn’t buy into too much at the time, but it just keeps getting better and better. You go Kris!

LOL at Minnie being a Kris fan. You think Mickey is an Adam fan? :laugh_tb:

  • colette

Anyone else notice how Kris is getting more and more confident and assured with each performance? He’s sustaining the notes on “Heartless,” stepping up the intensity…..love listening to him! I am really crossing my fingers for this guy to put out a decent album. I think he’s on fire with the desire to do so, which can’t hurt…

  • JJ123

That was just too adorable for words!! He is a great American Idol!! I never get tired of him performing Heartless…awesome!! I keep watching the Jimmy Fallon clip lol.

The EW article is also very cool….can’t wait to read more!! I’ve been a huge Daughtry fan since he was on AI and I swore I would never ever get sucked in by another contestant and DAMN IT…..Kris has sucked me in!! I just want to keep watching all the videos and reading all the articles!! He’s a great guy!!

  • Sunshinegirl

Kris fits in with Disney? Eh..not quite sure how to take that. If he ends up doing a Disney brand of pop then I’m done as a fan. He probably won’t. If the Disney promo didn’t hurt Cook, I doubt it will hurt Kris.

  • JJ123

Doing a Disney promo doesn’t exactly lead to putting out Disney brand of pop….I think it’s just all part of winning and endorsing the attraction. Kris is a cool guy with a cool vibe….he showed us what direction he wanted his album to be through his performances. I’m not worried.

  • storm45701

I, for one, think Adam would have had fun with this, too.

  • pleazurs

Not really to be mean but I could only listen to a few seconds, his squeaky voice urks me, sorry! :confused_ee:

  • Tess

Christians have a hard time accepting people like Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ liberal, from L.A., looks different, maybe acts a certain way. He’s a great, great guy. They don’t even give him a chance. And it’s frustrating because I come from that. A lot of my friends are not that way, which I appreciate, but a lot of people in Arkansas or in the South or wherever are that way. We really hope that our relationship can be an inspiration to people. I could go on about that forever.

    Kris Allen from EW interview

Kris is an exemplary American Idol Champion. I think this is what so many people were feeling and tuned into that forged the Kradam support. Thanks for being yourself Mr. Allen and for verbalizing how many of us feel.

  • GeminiDolly

Oh someone has it on top. Great Kris interview.

  • Sunshinegirl

Not really to be mean but I could only listen to a few seconds, his squeaky voice urks me, sorry!

That’s not mean. A lot worse has been said about Adam’s voice sadly.

  • taks

Hmm, well it’s not hard to tell that Adam and Allison seem to be the two closest to Kris. I didn’t think he’d answer the question about who he liked watching (or would say everybody), but I’m glad he did.

I really wish we would’ve seen an Adam/Allison/Kris top 3.

  • erinnthered

Oh, as an Adam fan, I am so glad Kris won!!

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see Adam at Disneyland with Minnie.

Please. Minnie is so his fave hag! ;-)

Adam is just as middle America as Kris, whether the media wants to admit it or not.

It’s all ages, but there will be lots of tweens. They aren’t interested in you, so you won’t be bothered by them. The kids are with their parents, and tend to be pretty polite and well behaved. The ones you need to watch out for are the adults in photo shirts, glitter, or faux goth make-up. Chances are they are the narcissistic frauen that Idletard is constantly talking about. Piss one of them off, and they may try to get you ejected.

Just do your thing, and you’ll be fine. You won’t stand out no matter your age.

ETA: Thanks for the link Kirsten. Nice tidbits. I’m actually kind of glad our Idol has less of a filter. He’s pretty harmless looking, as guys go, so he can get away with a lot.

  • babybelle32

Kris is just so sweet. He was on an Atlanta radio station this morning, and they spoke about a mad rush that happened after he did Idol Extra. Kris just sounds so concerned for everybody else’s well-being, and he didn’t even seem to care that some rabid fan was pulling his head.

My NY hubby just told my southern self that benches sounds like b**hes when I say it. I tested it out lol Great now I am going to be conscious of it lol

  • jersey

Yay! I love this stuff! I fully admit to being a Disney World freak. It’s too bad my kids are too old for this – I have no more excuses to visit. Kris did a great job.

  • MaryS-NJ

    Giant, walking PopTarts!

And lots of everybody else too – at least at the one I attended. Young adults, moms, dads, grannies, grandpas and lots of kids, tweens and teens of course. It’s a good mix. There may be some screaming fangirls and fanbois but they’re not all tweens. Not by a longshot.

  • weareallinnocent

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see Adam at Disneyland with Minnie.

Of course not, he’d be with Mickey (and they’d be together next week during Disney’s Gay Days. :-) )

But, yes, Kris does look too adorable with Minnie!

  • kimberann

Kris is representing idol in a very good way.

Oh man, I’m a HUGE Disney nut! I’m going there soon…but not soon enough! I wish I was there today though! That pic of Kris and Minnie is so cute. I’m glad he doesn’t have to sing “Mountains and Hurricanes” for every single appearance and is able to sing other songs too.

  • Valentin432

Hmm, well ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not hard to tell that Adam and Allison seem to be the two closest to Kris. I didnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d answer the question about who he liked watching (or would say everybody), but Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m glad he did.

  • Anya

There is a clip of Yesterday from the interview to air tomorrow on
http://www.krisallenation.com/ with Mike H on bass guitar, who knew! If you wait a little longer Kris sings a bit of When You Wish Upon a Star re his Disney trip (same clip).

  • maturin

It’s absurd how much I am awaiting the Idolatry with Kris. I love that dang thing. The interviews with Adam and Allison were so full of win. And Matt’s, and Anoop’s.

  • wand3rful

same here! i keep going back to EW in hopes they load up the interview tonite ….i just adore Slezak, can always count on interview magic with him

  • Yss

Those bits of info from the interview at ew are pretty great (Kradam love!)…and Kris with Minnie, OMG, so cute I could die!!!!!
I’ve been waiting Kris’s Idolatry interview like crazy….Slezak is the best!!!

  • taks

For all those anxious for the Idolatry interview (I know I am), note that Missy Schwartz writes

And, PopWatchers, check back this weekend for all new episodes of Idolatry, in which Michael Slezak outdoes himself (again) interviewing Kris Allen.

Sorry! We’ll have to wait another day.

  • jammasta

That EW interview is amazing. I like how Kris really supports Adam.

Actually Mike H is more like Kris in his views. I was flipping channels one day and caught him playing bass for Rick Springfield and stayed tuned in and realized Mike H is more of a Christian liberal like Kris and is very open minded and on the cool side.

  • Adamdebomb

Nothing more fun then Disney on a 93 degree day. (sarcastic). Also, it would appear that they had Kris scheduled all day working-commercials, appearances, meet and greets, Idol experience etc. Bet Adam is real jealous he missed this “fun’.

On a related-but OT issue, I wonder if Kris understands that even a ‘comped’ hotel room is ‘income’ under the tax code. Adam has traveled extensively via road shows, so I’m sure he understands keeping every receipt for expenses etc. I wonder if they explain to these kids that every single freebie (i.e. the car) is “income” which must be accounted for.

  • PattyH

I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see Adam at Disneyland with Minnie.

I could! Adam loves dress up and costumes!
And, as a So. Calif. guy, I’ll bet he’s been to Disneyland tons of times!

  • KrisAllen1

I’m sure Kris has someone helping him know the income stuff and everything.
I think his manager might explain that to him. He’s also not stupid.I mean I dont think that he thinks everything is free.

  • hollygo9

Great interview with Kris at EW

Everytime I think I can’t love him more, he proves me wrong. Count me as one of his binches.

They both have people handling all aspects. Their days and nights are not their own anymore and you can tell both are really tired and haven’t had a chance to think about expenses let alone anything else and the thing they probably are both looking forward to is sleeping in one day.

  • ross

There was this tabloid thing that came out about me and Adam, about how we don’t get along because I’m this conservative kid from Arkansas and he’s this L.A. liberal guy. Which, I could be nothing less than conservative. I’m just from Arkansas.

Nobody mentioned this part of Kris’s EW interview yet (as far as I know). He’s not even conservative; in fact, he’s the opposite. He’s “just from Arkansas.” The stereotyping of these two guys has been seriously ridiculous.

And he likes Gokey. Oh, well. Nobody’s perfect! :)

I’m sorry that these remarks of his are apparently “extras” that didn’t make it into the actual magazine article (if I read that intro right).

  • ShariG

I haven’t seen the EW magazine article yet and am dying to see it. I love Kris Allen and have so enjoyed his interviews and little mini concerts. I had no intention of buying a ticke to the American Idol Tour this year, but I admit it, I’m really hung up on Kris Allen and got my tickets for the Chicago show. I’m really looking forward to it. It should be really fun to see Adam and Kris and their great interactions let alone their singing. Can’t wait. This was nice in Orlando. Wish I could have been there. Heartless gets stronger and stronger with every performance.

  • ShariG

This is for GirlyGirl. Others may have answered it, too, but if not, just wanted to answer your question about the tour. I have been to four of the Idol concerts before last year and last year I was a true fan girl and went to see David Cook at home in Chicago, drove to Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne, and flew to Kansas City and Tulsa to see him. I have to say the crowd was a real mix. There were teens and younger than teens as well as grandparents, but primarily there were adults and families. I don’t think you would feel out of place at any age. I’m in my 40s and had a ball every time. I went with my daughter a few times, but sometimes I just went and met up with other friends I had met online who were also fans. It was lots of fun. In Kansas City I went all by myself and still had a great time. The shows have been fast paced and completely entertaining.

  • babybelle32

    Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not even conservative; in fact, heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s the opposite. Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“just from Arkansas.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ The stereotyping of these two guys has been seriously ridiculous.

I agree. Both Kris and Adam have been victims of stereotyping at the hands of people who claim to be fans, as well as some in the media, who are just too lazy to think for themselves, and do some research. The good thing is that the rumors and lies haven’t resulted in them changing who they are, how they treat one another, or how they treat people in the press. I love how Kris shut up Jimmy Fallon and the reporter for one of the NY morning shows after they tried to make-fun of Adam by mentioning the guy liner. Kris wasn’t mean to either of them, but they knew by his tone, and how he brought the subject back to himself, that he wasn’t going to let them put Adam down.

  • girlygirl

Thanks, everyone, for responding to my question about what the crowd at the Idol tour is like! They are playing here in L.A. on a Thursday, which isn’t great, since I’d have to figure out a way to get off work early then fight all our lovely traffic on the drive to the Staples Center. But it might be worth it. I’ve watched Idol every season, but this is the first time I’ve had any interest in actually going to the concert — I love Kris, Adam and Allison (Kris the most)!

I was afraid to hear that since I’m over 30 I might be too old to feel comfortable at this concert, but it doesn’t sound like I would be.

  • Michelle

going to the LA show on that Thursday as well!

    taking a half day because:

    1) the drive from SM to Downtown is a “bench” ….as Kris would say

    2) i need to properly feast and drink prior to the show (nachos, pretzel, overpriced budlight will not do) . Need fuel for my Kradam, Kradison moments.

Re the EW comment: Great for Kris for not only standing up for Adam but for making it clear he has been mislabeled as well

  • SuzieQ

Kris appearance on Best Day Ever last night. With special appearance by Adam!!!

DW is that place where I can see everyone. We all belong with Mickey and Minnie, and I think Adam would love it too.

Is the post-Idol DW event a first? I remember that Cookie did the Christmas event, but since the AI venue wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t ready this time last year, did he do a concert?

I dunno if someone answered you… but David did the Christmas song, and then in February he did a concert for the opening of the experience. It aired in some morning show. And then he and Carrie played in that stage. It looks like that it will become a thing now that there’s the AI venue… every idol will probably go there.

    Nobody mentioned this part of Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s EW interview yet (as far as I know). Heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s not even conservative;

English is not my first language so I’m wondering if I’m getting it right, but is he saying he’s not conservative or is he saying that yes, he’s from Arkansas but he could be or not conservative? Like, you can be from Arkansas and could be far from conservative.

  • ross

Love the EW interview with Kris — what a clase act. And I agree, I wish the top 3 had been — Kris, Adam and Alison.

Also, I am so glad that Kris is helping to blow up some old stereotypes that have little merit about Southerners. I’m a Mississippi Republican who is neither conservative or Christian — and I am not close minded. In fact the folks here, and my Arkansas neighbors a couple hours to the west, all really wear shoes and can read. Thanks, Kris.

  • http://myspace.com/pm68 Pam

I love the vid with the 3 performers and Kris trying to imitate Ryan with the suspense and drama announcing the winner. LOL He did a pretty good job there. :)

  • ross

Have to watch Best Week Ever tonight with Kris and Adam. (Your favorite American Idol benches. Binches. Beeyotches.). (I’m still trying to figure out why he would ever have needed to say “benches” on the show.)

  • KrisAllen1

I think i remember a time when it sounded like he was bitches lol.It was like the top 10 week i think.Ryan told Kris that he was safe and Kris said I should sit near the benches but it sounded like bitches and when he sat down Allison
kinda slapped him playfully.I need to find the clip.

  • Michelle

lmao I hope Allison didn’t think he was referring to her as a “bench”! ;)

  • lola

Now I know….Kris has to be declared the winner. They need a wholesome image for this Disney promo. Adam won’t fit into the Disneyworld theme. He’s too daring and sexy for a family oriented attraction.

  • RemusL

linsav, I don’t really want to get into a political discussion but Mike Huckabee is most certainly NOT a Christian liberal. Lest we forget, he did run for the Republican nomination for PotUS during last year’s election cycle. Here’s a list of his political positions. A quick glance at Huckabee’s positions on LGBT issues and abortion will tell you he’s as far from liberal as one can get. It’s cool that he plays bass guitar, but that’s about it.

As for the issue of people assuming Kris was conservative just because he’s Christian and from Arkansas, has everyone already forgotten that Bill & Hillary Clinton come from Arkansas as well? There are Christian liberals in every state, just as there are non-religious conservatives in every state. Assuming stereotypes is such a lazy way of thinking.

Back off, I meant in who he has on the show (I read the guest list but have only watched once), music, and not preaching to guests who have different views even though he is an ordained Southern Baptist minister. Did I say I voted for the freaking guy? No I did not. I could care less about his political views.

Why isn’t Bill O’Reilly all over this? A married Idol who is flirting with an enormous female mouse? Look at her, clutching her giant mutated white glove hands to her fuzzy bosom, clearly, there is something going on here!! America’s families at risk!

OK, I can’t even work up a good bout of mockery. Kris Allen is just ungodly cute. I want he and Adam to have their own show and come back and sing on my tv every week. With special guest star, David Cook. Also every week.

  • wjmtv

Wow. Y’know, I love Kris to death but lusting after him feels like lusting after a bichon frise. It’s just all kinds of wrong. But that “favoritist” picture…hmm. May have to re-examine that theory.

    So thanks, Michelle. I think.

I also agree that Kris has had to deal with some sterotyping too. I’m an Okie who now lives in rural Illinois, and when Jay Leno was asking Kris about proposing to his wife, he said something like, “So then what did you do? Take her to Dairy Queen?” or somesuch shit. We were not amused. :thumbdown_tb:

We were, however, amused by his BDE bit. Looking forward to the rest of it! I definitely think someone needs to start up a “I’m Kris’s binch” tshirt concession.

LOL. done, ill make/order one on CafePress and wear it to the concert

The viola is a very manly instrument to play.I bet Kris looks ungodly cute playing the viola.I dont think we will ever see him play though.Viola is a
big instrument isnt it? I bet it gave him a workout.

I played baseball growing up. How come my arms don’t look like that? I can’t sing, either. Or play the viola. Or guitar. Or piano. Wow, now I feel like crap.

  • RemusL

Back off, I meant in who he has on the show (I read the guest list but have only watched once), music, and not preaching to guests who have different views even though he is an ordained Southern Baptist minister. Did I say I voted for the freaking guy? No I did not. I could care less about his political views.

linsav, there’s no need to be so defensive. I was not attacking you in the slightest. I merely wanted to address your statements that “Mike H is more like Kris in his views” and Mike H is more of a Christian liberal like Kris and is very open minded because frankly, they’re not alike at all. Based on Kris’ own interview statements, they’re probably on opposite ends of the political spectrum.

  • colette

my favorite part of the EW Kris interview: he reserves the right to make fun of Danny Gokey!

gawd, this fella’s cool. love him more and more.

and gokey worshipers, don’t go batty on me. I love that they like to tease each other, and to me this implies that Danny really is a good-sport goofball (as I’ve heard) when he’s not in the public eye.

I’m watching Kris and Adam on Best Week Ever right now. Funny.

lol no the big one is the cello. The viola is a little smaller than the violin

  • colette

I imagine MJ will post this, but there’s a clip I found of Kris singing “Yesterday” with former Arkansas governor Huckabee on the latter’s TV show. It’s lovely, and I hope that he gets his wish to duet someday with Sir Paul McC:

I seem to recall that the viola is slightly larger than the violin.

I loved the bonus EW thing. :-) I thought his responses were fabulous. Makes me wonder how great the actual article is if those are the remarks that got cut. Looking forward to more stuff about Kris!

  • musicisthelife

o how i love kris allen.

  • RemusL

krisfan02, the viola is larger than the violin. According to Wikipedia, a full-size viola is 1 to 4 inches longer than a full-size violin if you compare the bodies.

Okay, I giggled for a minute straight over how ridiculously large the octobass is.

Viola’s so…random. Like everyone wanted to play violin or cello and the music teacher was like “um, could someone volunteer to play viola?” and of course, Kris obliged.

  • KrisAllen1

I wonder if Kris wanted to play the viola? I could see if he wanted to play the violin or something else and they only had the viola left.Kris being the
laid-back shy guy didnt mind being the only guy in band playing the viola.

man, i went to the newsstand to pick up the edition ….and eh, it was okay. the best part was Kris’ photo. really, the popwatch segment is way better/relevant than the article itself

That’s unfortunate. I may pick it up anyway. Thanks for the heads up.

I subscribe to EW so I had that issue waiting for me when I got home but I have to agree that the popwatch thing was better. what it needed was more pages to fill us in on all the goodness that is Kris Allen.

Also, if really want a hot picture of Kris, get People and look at the table of contents page. He looks too freaking hot in a tshirt. Okay, I’ll stop tarding out now. haha

There is a clip of Yesterday from the interview to air tomorrow on
http://www.krisallenation.com/ with Mike H on bass guitar, who knew! If you wait a little longer Kris sings a bit of When You Wish Upon a Star re his Disney trip (same clip).

Thank you for that! There is also a clip from “Best Day Ever” posted there! Too Funny! It’s too late to apologize…

The clip from “Yesterday” is kick awesome! lol! I cannot wait to see the entire song!!

ETA: Okay, I guess this has been posted?

  • cookcricket

On a related-but OT issue, I wonder if Kris understands that even a à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹compedà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ hotel room is à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã‹incomeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ under the tax code. Adam has traveled extensively via road shows, so Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m sure he understands keeping every receipt for expenses etc. I wonder if they explain to these kids that every single freebie (i.e. the car) is à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“incomeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ which must be accounted for.

Well, Mike Huckabee seems to understand our tax system pretty well so hopefully if Kris doesn’t realize this (which I’m guessing he does) Mike will give him a heads up.

my favorite part of the EW Kris interview: he reserves the right to make fun of Danny Gokey!

From the Access Hollywood clip with the top 10 (minus Adam & Kris), it did seem like Danny was everyone’s favorite punching bag. I guess he is a good sport so everyone feels comfortable teasing him.

Hey you all, not to get political or involved in a religios discussion — but just to be accurate, Kris has said he is not conservative BUT did he ever say he was liberal?

Kris is open-minded and very nice — and I think he’s a great representative of what is best about the Evangelical Christians I know. But he is an Evangelical Christian. And you can’t be be a Liberal and a believing Evangelical Christian.

Kris has been a worship team leader for the New Life Church for a number of years. He has also gone on a number of church missions. The first line on his church’s Website’s “What We Believe” section says:

“We believe that the Bible is God’s word. That it is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our daily lives.”

Link to the church’s site: http://www.newlifechurch.tv/

  • lucy

Kris may very well not be a liberal. He has kind of said that he’s the opposite of conservative, I believe (or maybe I’m misremembering.) But that could mean liberal or just open-minded or something else.

I do see why somebody probably couldn’t be a liberal and do everything that your average evangelical church says. But a lot of us have been in churches that we grew up in where we might be believers but end up not believing everything that that particular church said, so I can also see that someone trying to follow the bible closely might think they had no choice but to be a liberal — give away what you have to the poor, welcome and love everybody including beggars and prostitutes and thieves being hung on crosses, render unto Caesar the taxes that are Caesar’s while giving God what’s God’s, not covet or be greedy about stuff, figure that a camel can go through the eye of a needle easier than a rich man can get into heaven, not kill people in undeclared wars waged on and in countries that never did you any harm.

I don’t really think that Kris’s faith tells us which way he goes politically. Could be either way or something in the middle.

Whatever it is, though, he seems like a great guy to me.

  • linsav

TKat, I was being slightly facetious and sarcastic when I made that post (Kris stating he is opposite of conservative, Huckabee being conservative ordained So. Baptist Minister but not shoving it down his guests throats, yada, yada). Did not come off well, meh.

  • cwy

Actually, the hotel room and traveling provided to him these last couple of weeks are not “income”, as they are work-related. All these appearances that Kris is making are part of his “work” as he is fulfilling his contractual obligation with 19E. This is like the company paying for the hotel/airfare/food to send an employee on a business trip. If Adam was keeping his receipts for expenses during his prior road show trips, they’re for tax deduction, as all work-related expenses are tax deductible.

Pardon my ignorance but isn’t this topic about Kris Allen at Disneyworld in Orlando? Why then are a majority of the comments about Adam and/or religion?

He was amazing at Disneyworld. Good on ya, Kris!
