The crowd surfing video and the video of when Kris first comes out to greet the people at the autograph session are just amazing. Jive and 19 need to get on the ball and promote Kris here in the states, as well as everywhere else, so that more people can experience his live performances.

I know because I’mnot a teen but my point was the teens outnumber the rest and it’s a very good thing. They are the ones that will follow him through for so many years to come. It’s not a bad thing at all.
It’s very promising for him especially when he’s not a teen himself. I know he has a lot of guys too, massive, I’d say and my group the above 35′s and the 20′s. But we are no where near the number of teens.
A married artist having a huge teenage following is rare. Many will do anything for that.

Yeah Ross there the security guards. Tweeters were saying Kris was getting chased after and they had to do a human-change around him. They also said some girl wasn’t leaving fast enough and the guards basically had to throw her of the area.

I think Kris’ fans are a pretty nice mix of age and gender. We’re probably seeing more teens at these particular events since they’re the ones who usually enter radio contests and also hang at the mall … or would be able to show up hours early for an autograph session.

Come Together and the crowd surfing just had me grinning from ear to ear. He and the band seem to be having a fantastic time in Asia. I have no doubt he’ll try to get back there as soon as he can.

Kris received a keris (sort of ninja knife…) .. he said it’s to stab the musical competition.. lol

I’d bet that if they had organised it as a full concert, it would have sold out. Lots of folks were tweeting about not having the opportunity to attend because they couldn’t win the contest.
Kris being the first idol winner to go there would have been a good chance to takebut he could still go back later. This was kind of a rush too since it was scheduled after even Singapore.

Kris said something in the part 3 interview with YONG Chavez that was quite strikingto me. He said they (him and his management) are still working on his tour schedule and they know once a couple of dates come many would follow. I believe they want him to do these gigs and do the radio promo at the same time for this single.
I think it’s better to have a flexible schedule so he can do the radio thing too.
This makes me believe they are going the new artist way with him.

That Come Together vid just makes me so happy! He really needed this mini-tour to let loose and get really comfortable out there on stage in front of huge crowds.

The best thing about Kris is that his audience spans a wide range of ages, and he appeals to both men and women. This is evident based on the crowds that he’s drawn to his concerts. It’s also one of the reasons why he is so marketable.

During his concert here in Manila, that’s what I observed too. Most of the people I saw in my section was in that age demographic.

Kris is definitely getting loved on in Asia. He deserves it. You’re right, mzbet. He may never want to come back the way he is treated here by our mainstream media in the US. They continue to ignore him and his success there as well as here (other than Jim & Michael). Would it kill them to report on the crowds he’s bringing in or his body surfing escapades? I need to be more like Kris and take it in stride but that is difficult. The media bias here is embarassing. I never used to believe all of those allegations about who controls our media – people with their own social agenda – until I started following AI in Season 8. The reporters are now actually hiding Kris’ success with LLWD by using nondescript language. We’ll see what the reviews say after the NYC concert, but I’m not holding my breath that there will be any attitude change. I am a writer and too old to start another career but I’m seriously considering going into journalism just so Kris can get a fair shake. At any rate, awesome Asian videos. Thank you, everyone there who is showing him the love he deserves.

Masieta, I love you!! If you start writing again, I’ll be your first fan! It is indeed frustrating. I’ve seen that Kris had something special from early on, and I just don’t know why our media cannot see it. They’re so blinded by the sparkles or glitter I guess! JK!, but they’re blinded by something.

Kudos to Kris. After his Manila performance, I didn’t think I could love him any more. Then he goes and does the Come Together performance with the little crowd surf. (I know I wouldn’t fall backwards into a crowd!) And the balut!!! Man, he’s got guts!! (Yeah, I wouldn’t do that either!)

Wow, I am just getting a chance to watch all of the goodies from today. He was awesome and the crowd loved him. I love the Come Together Video and him crowd surfing. Come Together was actually one of my favorite performances of his during AI. Time to go back to the AOL sessions.

And aside from the AI-related blogs and the casino itself, no one is reporting on Adam’s upcoming gig

While of course it would be nice, I don’t really think it’s important for the US media to cover Kris’s trip. He’s where he is in order to get exposure there, not to get it here. He has fans there, as well as here. They also buy music. It’s not necessarily all about the US.

By the way, I’m not really worried about the media and Kris. I can’t say why, I guess it’s just a feeling. Some people become instant celebrities, getting all kinds of attention, but he will earn his attention and it won’t be fleeting when it happens.

I think he’s practicing what he’s preaching. Plus I think he is totally overwhelmed with the outpouring of love they are getting over there and he’s giving it back.

I don’t think it would be as bad as it seems girlygirl. For example, my daughter would love to go to a JoBro concert and as a parent I would take her. Yes, adults attend those concerts with their younger girls, so adults would get exposed to Kris and if they have any musical sense at all, would realize how amazing he is! In fact, my husband would take her as well and I’m sure he’s not the only father out there that would do so. I don’t think it’s the ideal choice or even the best one, but all would not be lost.

ETA: btw, I’m pretty impressed with young Nick Jonas myself. He’s quite the musician and song writer, imho.

Did you know that they make boxes of Jonas Brothers valentines for the classroom? Yes, 32 in a box with sayings like: “Valentine, you rock!” and “Have a jammin’ Valentine’s Day!” I know this because I bought a box of them today for my daughter to give to her 15 yr. old friends as a joke!! Then I come on here and see this rumor and now these Valentines don’t seem as funny.

ITA with you girlygirl. I would rather see Kris tour with someone whose music and fans are more mature. What’s The Fray doing this spring?

For example, my daughter would love to go to a JoBro concert and as a parent I would take her. Yes, adults attend those concerts with their younger girls, so adults would get exposed to Kris and if they have any musical sense at all, would realize how amazing he is!

My husband and I have taken my daughter to see the Jonas Brothers twice. What’s one more time? My only problems with it would be that Jonas Brothers tickets have gotten to be really expensive, and I wouldn’t want Kris to spend the whole year touring with them. But, for something like 6 weeks- what the heck. Jordin toured with them for a while last year, and Archuleta toured with Demi Lovato. That’s 2 Idol/Jive artists who’ve been paired with 2 Disney acts, so it wouldn’t really be that strange. Kris will have time to open for multiple artists if he wants to this year, and headline some shows too.

And, I agree, Cookcricket. Nick Jonas is a real musician.

CathyMK, I agree a whole year would be too much, six weeks sounds about right if it were to happen. At least at this point it’s simply a rumor. Opening for Daughtry was rumored as well and we see that’s not what happened.

-The acapella at the autograph session. wow. Just a couple lines of LLWD and he has another version of that too. He really is bored singing that song I guess. Great for us .

-I hope that (I’m sure) there are more videos from the night concert. I need to reaffirm what I was hearing.
I can NOT believe that his voice is THAT impeccable after all the travel, singing, press, etc. Especially Red Guitar and LLWD. I think somebody behind the screen just put on Kris’ cd and he was just moving his lips to it.

-The screams and chants before Heartless. The fun of Come Together.
The emotion of The Truth. Alright With Me always a fail in terms of audience participation because when Kris starts singing his part again, people stop the yeah, yeah part to be able to hear Kris’ voice. And I don’t blame them.

-I wish that there is a real video footage of this. This is a perfect concert footage.

-I don’t think I want to compare the audience reception in NY. It’s going to be a major let down for me I think. I hope not. We’ll see.

Not into the Jonas Brothers, but hell if i have to go to see Kris, I will. This also goes for Allison and Adam too, don’t care who they are touring with, want to see them. It is one of my goals for the year to see these 3. If it gets closer to the end of the year… might even fly out of state to see them. It is true, Kris does have the added stigma of winning over Adam. i’m overwhelmed by all this awesome material, I don’t know where to start. “The Truth” is one of my favorite tracks on the album and it’s sounding better and better every time.

ok, and as for JoBros and all that…let’s hope it’s a rumor. Which I really believe it is. demographics, parents, etc., whatever, it just doesn’t gell. The band will keep playing smaller venues on their own, or will support a rock outfit, that’s my feeling.

He reportedly also does his own version of “pants on the ground” and responds to a comment about a gay couple who are friends of the female dj — one of whom loves Kris and the other Adam (or some such thing). Maybe someone else managed to record the whole thing and it will show up online later…

As far as the SE Asian tour, Kris got better with each show. (At least to my ears.) Malaysia was the best yet. Can’t wait for Singapore tonight. The Come Together surfing gave me giggles (like a teen for sure).

Wow that’s amazing that Kris dare to try durian… Andrew Zimmern from Bizarre Foods said it’s one of the worst things he had tried… But for me durian is my all time favorite fruit… lol Like SarahP said, it’s one fruit that you either love or hate. No in between. Most american friends I know have stayed away from it after smelling it from a mile away.

However, I just found a bunch of new ones (both press and concert) that were put up within the last hour. I can’t tell where these are from, maybe Singapore? It appears to be a radio station DJ who uploaded them.

If you look at the videos of the crowd, you can see that they are mostly college age and a fairly even male to female ratio.

A Pinoy friend of mine in Cebu went to see Jabbawockeez, the dance crew Kris is appearing with in the Philippines. She said most of the people she talked to were there to see Jabbawockeez and didn’t know who Kris was. Apparently several of the Jabbawockeez are Fillip-Am, and since this is their second tour of the Philippines, and they’ve had a lot of press, media attention and television appearances, they’ve developed a huge fan base there. That was smart of Jive to have Kris appear with such a popular group and hopefully it will help him get more international attention. Anyway, my friend said Kris was pretty good and she enjoyed him. Jabbawockeez killed it.

Going along with the who to tour with bent, Train has an upcoming tour.

Kris has an amazing song on his album called the “The Truth” wirtten by none other than Grammy winner “Soul Sister” singer, Pat Monahan (lead singer of Train), and also Toby Gad.

Which by the way, wow, the performance of that song for the KL showcase is amazing, gets better every time he sings it live, he puts so much emotion into it!

Perhaps this would be an interesting transition if they use “The Truth” as the next single. And the demo of that crowd would be great (YMMV – my opinion of course), and I think it would be good for Train as well (this is not a slam against Train by any means, huge Meet Virginia fan here, plus that record was awesome!) just he might help attract a somewhat younger crowd to the already mixed crowd that would be ecstatic and not at all embarrassed to see Kris and Train.

I would be thrilled if “The Truth” is the 2nd single as it might help Kris connect with those AI fans who he hasn’t connected with LLWD. I used to love AWM but I’m beginning to get sick of it and it’s the only songs in his album that I’m actually starting to get sick of and I don’t know why. So I’ll be worried if AWM is the 2nd single… as I really want Kris to have another big hit to move his album sales.

Whew , I am struggling to keep up with all these wonderful videos & comments about Kris’s time in South East Asia . Not complaining though- this gives me plenty to watch in the lean times when Kris is back in the US before he goes “touring’!!
Loved the crowd surfing one- he was so close to the crowd – he seemed to feed off their energy!!
Also loved the fire- dancing video- so funny!!

I’ve noticed that Kris is singing without his guitar for a lot more songs fior these performances & also is much closer to the crowd as well. He seems to be thriving on this close connection!!

I was in that China zoo, but I missed the Panda experience because at the time there was not enough zoo keeper to allow that. Somebody got sick I think. I was petting a dolphin somewhere in Singapore. Somehow, in the US, they are more strict with this kind of thing. Too many lawyers here maybe.
I would love to hug a Panda in San Diego zoo, which never will happen.
