Kris Allen told FOX Good Day LA in an interview earlier today, that his wife Katy isn’t jealous of his success. “She’s a star too,” he says.

“I’m so embarrassed,” Adam Lambert texted Kris after Adam’s Rolling Stone interview was released with the ” Kris is totally my type” quotes, but Kris says he just laughed, “Adam, you aren’t embarrassed by anything!”

The Top 10 are in Los Angeles now rehearsing for their summer tour that begins in Portland, OR on July 5.

You just have to love Kris Allen. You just do.

  • Sunn

He looks goood. His skin is flawless… touch wood.

    This was a cute interview.

  • colette

He must be so sick of these questions, but so good-natured, so pleasant. Stand up individual, for sure.

  • GeminiDolly

    Kris is adorable.

  • Tara

He is such a nice guy. And handsome too. I can’t wait to hear his music. I loved Ain’t no Sunshine. I was so encouraged that he stated he will not have silly lyrics (live chat).. thank you Kris… I have hope in the future of music.

  • Truthiness

But when will we hear anything about Kris?!

    Sorry, couldn’t resist.

But yeah, he looked great and it was a nice interview. Kind of covered territory, but that’s to be expected. He was nice, and humble and cute, as always.

  • girlygirl

I’m repeating myself I know. But MJ can you post the link to the Web Extra Kris did for GDLA as well? Thanks!

  • gingerly

    edit: uh NO?

  • taks

Kris is all sorts of awesome, but man.. he is way more tight-lipped about his tour set than any of the other contestants. Allison gave away her entire set, Adam has let his slip with the help of that RS vid, Matt even has given us a song title. I’m soo anxious for these tour videos to start popping up so I can see some new songs.

On a side note, Kris rocking back and forth in that chair during the video was distracting.

  • dcmjfan127

I hate when interviewers all talk at the same time and don’t let Kris give an answer.

Like seeing the Queen clip. I forgot how hot Kris looked singing that with his leather coat on :wub_tb:

  • Truthiness

gingerly, I’m confused. I know and like Kris just fine. He’s one of my faves, along with Allison and Adam. Kradison FTW! As per the post you’re referring to, everything I said about Kris was positive, and seems accurate to him. He was/is humble, and sweet and has a cute way of expressing himself . Oh I said he he looked great, because he did. I liked that shirt on him, good fit and his hair was looking nice. Though when doesn’t Kris look good? Really. He just has times he looks better than others. I’m jellus.

  • taran33

Seeing clips of the finale again reminds me of how true Kris and Adam’s statements were about how they were just enjoying themselves.

Kris is just plain awesome in every way. He’s going to be a great Idol and role model. I predict he and his wife will take the “Idol Gives Back” charity work idea to a whole new level and inspire others to get involved in service work.

  • iluvai

My favorite part was when he said that Katy is a star too. He sounded so genuine. She is one lucky lady!

Kris is really a pro at answering these questions. He’s a great guy. :)

    Lol. They’re so cute. :)

  • maturin

That was adorable. He’s a sweetie.

  • suebrody

KRADAM FTW When he said how singing Queen with Adam was highlight of the season for him…*thud*

Can they go on tour together? And bring Allison? And Cook? WOW. The dream team. MUST HAPPEN.

  • shadow-rider

I think Kris’ reaction to the RS comment shows:

    1. just how genuine the friendship between Kris and Adam really is.

    2. how open-minded Kris is

And I swear the more I see Adam and Kris (but especially Kris) in interviews I fall even harder for them. I think they both have an aura about them that just instantly draws you to them, you can even feel it through the screen. Can you imagine talking to them face to face. I would probably fall instantly in love with both of them.

I think Katy is one lucky lady to have such a wonderful guy but at the same time I think Kris is one lucky guy to have such a strong and supportive wife.

  • AC

I love Kris! I wonder if it’s mostly kids and grandmas that run up to him. haha.. I think it’s mostly due to the fact that girls aren’t throwing themselves over him is that they know he’s married and don’t want to scare him too much. haha

  • cookcricket

Just love this quote! Kris is so completely honest with Adam. Based on what Adam told Nancy O’Dell on his Access Hollywood shopping trip, the RS comments were not a surprise to Kris – but very funny.

  • Truthiness

No worries, gingerly. It’s all good. We can both just enjoy Kris being his usual chillaxed and cute self in interviews.

And awwww his answer about Katy. So cute, that with his saying in the comcast chat where she inspired him…adorable. And like others, I really liked his answer about Adam and the RS cover, “Adam, you don’t get embarrassed.” hee. That seems very true to Adam and it’s great that they get each other. I love their friendship, it’s both cute and inspiring. Thank goodness for people like Kris.

  • smartcookie

One of the things I like best about Kris is that he went for an intelligent woman, and that he seems to appreciate Katy even more because she IS smart and strong. I always like men who go for the smart girls. :-)

First he’s wearing Cook’s shirt and now Archie’s.

  • TwigLA

Thanks so much for posting this, MJ, and also the info for the web extra interview. I always enjoy seeing and hearing him in these. Each time a little bit of something different and new comes out.

I like the fact that he’s not spilling his tour set and wants it to be a surprise. Of course, we can speculate. Of songs he did on the show, I’d say ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’, ‘Heartless’, and ‘Falling’.

We’d have to work with themes to figure out which weren’t cleared for the show, but are now. We can rule out ‘Year you were born’ since he didn’t like any. One I wanted him to do for Rat Pack was ‘Mr. Bojangles’ I thought it would be great.

I’d also like to hear him do some Tom Petty or Bob Dylan. In the category of ‘never gonna happen’ I’d flip if he did some Traveling Wilburys … oh, say ‘Tweeter and the Monkey Man’

  • smartcookie

I just watched a Jackson Browne concert on PBS, and I would love for Kris to try a real singer/songwriter tune like one of Jackson Browne’s. There are rock and folk overtones, he plays both the piano and the guitar, he tells definite stories with his songs, and he has some of the best lyrics EVER. I would pay good money to hear Kris’s take on “Doctor My Eyes” or “My Opening Farewell.” Or “The Pretender.” Or, since it’s for the tour, Jackson’s Browne’s take on “Stay,” which was an awesome concert ender during the “Running on Empty” period.

Jackson Browne, Talking Heads, James Taylor… That’s the kind of thing I’d like to hear.

Nah. He’ll pick stuff that’s a lot more modern than Jackson Browne. But I do hope “Falling Slowly” is on his set list. Cause I lovelovelove that song.

  • wand3rful

i wonder if katy would be too upset if i do run up to kris and plant a wet one on him….figure he wouldn’t be too offended given that no girls his age have approached him yet…..(ummm, disclaimer, im technically not his age, but whats a 6yrs difference, no? lolz)

  • Cakenbake

I would love to hear Kris do Falling Slowly on the tour.

You know everytime I listen to that song…I TEAR UP. I thank Kris for doing that song. I never heard it before he performed it.

Now it is one of my favs.

  • http://randomizeme.wordpress.com arca

My favorite part was when he said that Katy is a star too. He sounded so genuine. She is one lucky lady!

He may also mean that literally – in one of Kris’ Access Hollywood interviews (the one in the backseat of the limo) – he mentioned that Katy wanted to go into “acting” and Katy did take those LA headshots … so you never know if Katy will be popping up on tv or movies in the future.

And, oh, another reason to love Katy, she told Kris to sing “Falling Slowly” based on Neil Allen’s (Kris’ dad) radio interview. Really good advise from the wife there!

  • musicisthelife

    ha kris is awesome.
“adam…you’re not embarrased of anything” lol

yeah i totally agree! its his best song and my favourite for the whole of this season. and personally i think he deserved to win solely for singing that beautiful and haunting song…

on another note, i saw the movie “Once” last week and can totally understand why kris liked it. its such an honest rendition of a musician’s aspirations and its a definitely a must-see for kris fans i think.

  • auntieaimee

I have to recommend the movie “Once” as well. It’s a beautiful little film. Great soundtrack. Kris is a bit of a romantic, eh?

ha ha, it’s on the docket for my hubby and I to watch. My husband’s an aspiring musician and is part Irish, so I think we’ll have tissue box close by…

Oh yeah, we’re both Kris fans too. lol.

  • ShariG

Hey, Cricket. I just ordered Once from Net Flix. I need to see it too just because Falling Slowly came from it and it meant enough to Kris to want to sing that song on AI. This interview is so sweet. He just hasn’t changed at all with all of the hoopla of winning idol. He is completely open and honest and just a really, really good guy. I am a little sorry that he is having to take a back seat to Adam’s sexual expose in the press, especially since it really wasn’t a surprise to anyone. But Kris’s time will come. Can’t wait for his CD to come out in the fall. I was in the mall today and Jordan Sparks, One Step at a Time was blasting over the sound system. I couldn’t help but think that will be Kris in another year. Can’t wait.

Kris has been to several missions helping other people around the world before he even is a celebrity and I think this is what makes him well-grounded. He knows how good things should be appreciated much because they can be gone too soon. I think that’s also one of the reasons why hearing his songs makes us feel so emotional, it’s because he has felt so much too. I’m really glad Kris won the AI and will be coming out with an album soon. It’s going to be on top of my Christmas presents’ list. What better thing to give on Christmas than music from someone like him? Stay true, Kris.
