Kris Allen Begins Out Alive Tour, Covers “Killing Me Softly” (VIDEO)

Kris Allen began his Out Alive tour last night in Killington VT. In an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kris revealed details about the tour, his recent car accident, and his wife’s baby due date! Via Atlanta Journal-Constitution More on the New Years Day head-on collision involving him and his pregnant wife, Katy.

“It definitely hurts,” he said in an interview Monday. “But the show must go on.” He briefly described the accident: “My wife and I were driving home. We were getting into a turning lane and this lady came out of nowhere and hit us head on. We were going about 25 miles an hour.” His Ford Escape absorbed the shock.. He passed out, but his wife got him back awake. He realized immediately his wrist was messed up. He’s now in a cast, which he said is itchy (see right.) “From the looks of the car, it could have been a lot worse,’ Allen said. “It kept us real safe. There were a lot of airbags.”

Kris and Katy are expecting their first child in July!

The American Idol season 8 winner will  be performing a fan requested cover every night on his tour. Last night, he performed “Killing Me Softly” by Roberta Flack.  Check it out below.

Somebody out in the audience yelled “FREEBIRD!”   Kris joked, “Wow..You’re going to be that guy? Not going to happen!” Ha.

    More videos–yay! I could listen to Kris sing all day!

    I wonder now if fans will start giving Kris scarves? He could do something with them after each show–sell them (like the disposable cameras)? Donate the money to World Vision or another charity. He could even do the Noxema “strip” theme as he takes them off at the end of the show–haha! That would be fun! :-)

    Several people took videos of the song Kris dedicated to the CT shooting victims, “Where Are You Amy” that he performed at last night’s show. Just Kris and Cale — absolutely gorgeous.
